Our experience at Courtyard was very favorable. The room was very clean, the bed was ok. Initially we had made the reservation over the phone, asking for a balcony and when we went to our room, found that it did not have one. Upon returning to the desk, the situation was remedied quickly. The only other downside came when we returned to our room mid-day to find it still had not been serviced. We were assured that it would be cleaned at our convenience. Later the room was indeed cleaned and restocked. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
Pros: room appearance, service, location
Cons: unmade room, initial room mistake

If you need to stay for just a night or so and you don't need luxury, this place works just fine. You may not feel indulged in luxury, but you shouldn't feel unsafe. It's clean enough and works for me in a pinch.

Not hte best place if you're trying to impress someone, but then again, I don't think that's what it's really trying to be. It works in a pinch if your usual places are not available. The parking lot is a bit scary.

We ended up living here for 3 months while searching for our home in Austin. My husband's company was putting us up there...and while it wasn't an ideal situation...the staff here made it work for us. Everyone was very kind. The rooms offer things other places do not like small ovens and kitchen supplies. This made it easy to cook and keep things a little more like home. Overall, we were impressed with the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the value for our money.

The location was great and staff was kind and helpful. we were greeted with cookies and drinks in the lobby.
The room was clean and there were nice amenities but no hot tea - which is a bit strange considering most hotels have both coffee and tea in the room.
The entrance/exit to 6th street in the back was not well maintained. This may be public property though - I dont know. There were cigarettes and fast food wrappers. That is not what I want to see when leaving or returning to the hotel I am staying at.
Valet parking was 25 dollars and we had in and out privleges which was nice.
Pros: location and staff
Cons: just a bit pricey

The North Austin Plaza Hotel offers great rooms for the price that you pay. They have a HUGE outdoor pool that seemed to be kept nice and clean. The high speed internet is complementary and they have coffee and a mini fridge in each room. I didn't see the business center but they do have one, also a fitness center. There is a Bikinis Bar and Grill located right next to the hotel so you don't even have to go far for food.

This hotel is tucked behind a gas station right off I-35, but even the highway-facing rooms don't suffer from the noise. Polite staff, extremely clean facilities. Good breakfast offered, including cheese omelets, sausage, yogurt, fresh fruit, and bagels. Indoor pool and hot tub super clean and well-maintained-- also a small gym room with all the necessities. This is a smoke-free hotel-- a definite plus for non-smokers, but something to mention if its an inconvenience to you. Check out prices online (or try calling), as I found they can vary quite a bit.
Pros: Clean; Well-Kept Facilities; Breakfast; Location
Cons: Prices can be high at peak times (located very close to a string of Marriotts)

The rooms here start at $129-$399.. This is pricey but worth it. The service here, cannot be beat. I found everyone to be extra helpful. Not to mention the rooms are beautiful..They also have a yummy Mansions Cafe. So you don't even have to leave the hotel. I highly recommend this place.

We went to Austin last weekend for a baby shower and it was being held in an apartment at the Bradford Homesuites, so we decided to get a room there the first night. The location was convenient (just off of North Capital of Texas Highway) and there were plenty of restaurants and shopping options (including a huge Crate and Barrel store) nearby.
I know that we have a Bradford Homesuites in our area and I have seen it off the site of the freeway, but I had never really heard anything about it, so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The first night, I stayed in a suite. There was a kitchen (including a full size refrigerator, microwave, and a dishwasher), a "living room" area with a couch that included a sleeper sofa and a bedroom that was sectioned off by french doors. Each room has an individually-controlled thermostat. There was a TV and VCR in the living area and another one in the bedroom. The TV also featured pay-per-view movies and video game options. They included some "goodies" in the kitchen including Nutrigrain bars and popcorn. They kitchen also includes utensils, plates, glasses, and pots and pans. An added bonus in my opinion was that the sample size soap, conditioner, and shampoo was Bath and Body Works brand! The bonus for my husband was that the rooms are equipped for wireless high speed internet access.
Our second night, we were going to stay in a different hotel that we had booked through Hotwire.com, and when things didn't work out as we had planned, the staff at the Bradford Homesuites was very quick to accommodate us and provided us with a room at a discounted rate. Our room that night was more like a studio apartment and offered all of the features of the first room, but the area with the bed was not sectioned off. Both nights, our beds were very comfortable and we didn't have any problem getting a good night's sleep. Both rooms were also very clean. Another thing that I was impressed by was that they provided PLENTY of towels (I have stayed at so many hotels where you have to call or try to track down additional towels because they only provide you with two).
This location offers a free breakfast in the mornings that includes a little bit of something for everyone. There was waffles, french toast, hard boiled eggs, fruit (peaches, oranges, grapefruit, etc), muffins, bagels, and several different types of cereal. They also offered milk, a variety of juices, and coffee. We thought it was filling and you can't beat "free."
Other amenities included: a hot tub and swimming pool (these were located right by the building that we stayed in and appeared to be in great condition - we just didn't have time to use them), a "market" with convenience items including food, laundry facilities, a fitness center, and a business center (with computers, a printer, and a fax machine). Most of the buildings are three stories and they do have elevators.
They have a "three star" rating on Expedia.com and former guests have giving them an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 for the following: hotel service, hotel condition, room cleanliness, and room comfort. The staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We were very happy and will definitely plan to stay here the next time we are in Austin.
