While my room was not perfect, I was very much pleased with the hotel. I was in Austin for 6 days for some medical tests. Because the "room" consisted of a bedroom, living room, kitchen with eating area, and of course a bathroom, it was not your standard small cramped hotel room. It was an apartment. And being away from home for all that time, and during a tense time, this was the perfect choice for me.
Also, every morning the comfortable eating area near the hotel office offered a full breakfast. Bacon and eggs, cereal and toast, muffins and bagels, pancakes and waffles, sausages, juice. All part of the standard fee.
No, this wasn't a 5 star hotel and there were small details that needed attending to. For example, after flushing, the toilet would fill, the water would stop, but apparently there was a small leak and then the toilet would fill again a few minutes later. But one phone call fixed this.
I'd recommend this hotel for anyone.
Pros: Location, room size, breakfast, comfort.
Cons: Some small details due to the place not being brand new. Nothing to turn me away.

I loved the pool--a semi-circle that starts outside and end inside their rec room. They provide pool toys and robes. Beautiful decor in the rooms--with nice added touches like decorative cloth covering cords (a VERY nice safety feature when traveling with a baby). It's not in downtown but close enough for a quick trip to see the sights.

The Marriott is blocks away from I35 and 6th street. We came to Austin for our friends for their 21st birthday and enjoyed the great service. Our bell man Joe was the nicest guy and very friendly. We stayed in a two bed suite that over looked the Capitol. It was very luxurious and comfortable. The suite had a great dining table, bar, huge TV, and a comfy couch. Most suites we've stayed in felt very stiff and conservative, the Marriott was very relaxing and homey. The hotel room's beds were soft and cushy, and felt as if were made just for us. Most hotels have dingy sheets and pillows, but the Marriott's were just like new. Our stay at the Marriott was the best. If you come to Austin for business or pleasure, I definately recommend the Marriott hotel and suite, it was well worth it!
Pros: Great location, staff, amentities, clean

The Inn at Pearl Street is truly a slice of heaven in downtown Austin. The amenities are warm and welcoming, as is the staff. There are several choices of rooms, each with their own historical theme. It is also very quiet and private. A great get away for a weekend or beautiful venue for a wedding.
Pros: Beautiful, relaxing, spacious outdoor seating
Cons: No restaurant on site

We stayed at this Austin Doubletree this weekend while attending a wedding. I would rate the hotel as an average experience. The location is very conveniently located at the intersection of IH35 and SH290. It is a large hotel with a courtyard featuring fountains and a pool. They have many meeting rooms, as well as a restaurant and lounge.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was surprised that you had to pay for parking in the garage, especially since this is not a downtown location. That added $8 per day to the price of the hotel. The rooms were average, but seemed a little small. We had a room with two beds. It seemed very crowded, and the beds were doubles instead of queens. Overall, I'd give this hotel an average rating.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this Super 8 for $51 a night. The room and bathroom was clean, and the service was nice. We were given the wrong room at first and the front desk clerk switched us to the right room with no problems. This is the second time I've stayed at this location and I'd stay there again.
Pros: Price, Free Breakfast
Cons: None

I stayed at the Red Roof Inn Austin North over the weekend with my family. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable the rooms were. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Our original reservation was for 2 nights but we ended up staying for 3. Next time we are in Austin we will be staying at the Red Roof Inn.
Pros: Clean, Comfortable, Good Price, Friendly Staff, Close to Downtown
Cons: Older building

We stayed here on a Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, the staff was friendly. $18 for overnight parking and valet is a great deal. There are two sized suites - one of which is a lot bigger than the other but currently priced the same. We had viewed the larger room and were placed in a smaller room. However, the staff was very kind and changed us to the larger room with a smile. The fold out sofa was surprisingly comfy (for a fold out sofa) and the king size bed was amazing. All around, great experience.
Pros: Staff, cleanliness, size of room
Cons: Smaller rooms priced the same as larger rooms
