The rooms here start at $129-$399.. This is pricey but worth it. The service here, cannot be beat. I found everyone to be extra helpful. Not to mention the rooms are beautiful..They also have a yummy Mansions Cafe. So you don't even have to leave the hotel. I highly recommend this place.

We went to Austin last weekend for a baby shower and it was being held in an apartment at the Bradford Homesuites, so we decided to get a room there the first night. The location was convenient (just off of North Capital of Texas Highway) and there were plenty of restaurants and shopping options (including a huge Crate and Barrel store) nearby.
I know that we have a Bradford Homesuites in our area and I have seen it off the site of the freeway, but I had never really heard anything about it, so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The first night, I stayed in a suite. There was a kitchen (including a full size refrigerator, microwave, and a dishwasher), a "living room" area with a couch that included a sleeper sofa and a bedroom that was sectioned off by french doors. Each room has an individually-controlled thermostat. There was a TV and VCR in the living area and another one in the bedroom. The TV also featured pay-per-view movies and video game options. They included some "goodies" in the kitchen including Nutrigrain bars and popcorn. They kitchen also includes utensils, plates, glasses, and pots and pans. An added bonus in my opinion was that the sample size soap, conditioner, and shampoo was Bath and Body Works brand! The bonus for my husband was that the rooms are equipped for wireless high speed internet access.
Our second night, we were going to stay in a different hotel that we had booked through Hotwire.com, and when things didn't work out as we had planned, the staff at the Bradford Homesuites was very quick to accommodate us and provided us with a room at a discounted rate. Our room that night was more like a studio apartment and offered all of the features of the first room, but the area with the bed was not sectioned off. Both nights, our beds were very comfortable and we didn't have any problem getting a good night's sleep. Both rooms were also very clean. Another thing that I was impressed by was that they provided PLENTY of towels (I have stayed at so many hotels where you have to call or try to track down additional towels because they only provide you with two).
This location offers a free breakfast in the mornings that includes a little bit of something for everyone. There was waffles, french toast, hard boiled eggs, fruit (peaches, oranges, grapefruit, etc), muffins, bagels, and several different types of cereal. They also offered milk, a variety of juices, and coffee. We thought it was filling and you can't beat "free."
Other amenities included: a hot tub and swimming pool (these were located right by the building that we stayed in and appeared to be in great condition - we just didn't have time to use them), a "market" with convenience items including food, laundry facilities, a fitness center, and a business center (with computers, a printer, and a fax machine). Most of the buildings are three stories and they do have elevators.
They have a "three star" rating on Expedia.com and former guests have giving them an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 for the following: hotel service, hotel condition, room cleanliness, and room comfort. The staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We were very happy and will definitely plan to stay here the next time we are in Austin.

The Marriott is blocks away from I35 and 6th street. We came to Austin for our friends for their 21st birthday and enjoyed the great service. Our bell man Joe was the nicest guy and very friendly. We stayed in a two bed suite that over looked the Capitol. It was very luxurious and comfortable. The suite had a great dining table, bar, huge TV, and a comfy couch. Most suites we've stayed in felt very stiff and conservative, the Marriott was very relaxing and homey. The hotel room's beds were soft and cushy, and felt as if were made just for us. Most hotels have dingy sheets and pillows, but the Marriott's were just like new. Our stay at the Marriott was the best. If you come to Austin for business or pleasure, I definately recommend the Marriott hotel and suite, it was well worth it!
Pros: Great location, staff, amentities, clean

I had never stayed in an Omni hotel before, but after my experience this past weekend (10/17/2003 to 10/19/2003) I will look for Omni hotels first when travelling. The hotel is located right next to I-35 and offers easy access from/to the airport, downtown, and dining locations. Austin's roads in general are a mess and I don't think it matters where you stay, as the traffic is pretty bad all over. Everything was clean and rooms were large (King bed, Nice TV, Writing desk, and sitting area). The rooms even offer free wireless Internet access if you have a wireless LAN card in your laptop. You can also purchase an access card from the front desk for $9.95 a day (if you have a LAN card). The hotel has a huge indoor/outdoor pool and the staff was very friendly. Overall a great hotel and I would definitely stay there again.
Pros: Reasonable Price, Clean, Large Room
Cons: Traffic, View of I-35

We stayed here on a Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, the staff was friendly. $18 for overnight parking and valet is a great deal. There are two sized suites - one of which is a lot bigger than the other but currently priced the same. We had viewed the larger room and were placed in a smaller room. However, the staff was very kind and changed us to the larger room with a smile. The fold out sofa was surprisingly comfy (for a fold out sofa) and the king size bed was amazing. All around, great experience.
Pros: Staff, cleanliness, size of room
Cons: Smaller rooms priced the same as larger rooms

I stayed for one night before an early flight last month (I'm an Austinite). Very quiet room and easy shuttle to the airport. Valet parking while I was away was less than the airport and very convenient. I came back to Austin at 1:30am and the shuttle arrived within 5 minutes of my call. Highly recommend.
Pros: Easy shuttle to the airport. Nice staff.
Cons: None!

I've know about the Drury Inn chain for a few years now, and when makeing hotel reservations for some of my former co-workers had put them at the Drury and had gotten rave reviews. However I had not stayed at one myself until I decided to move to Austin. I traveled by car from San Diego, stopping in several cities - the Drury Inn at Highland Mall is the second Drury I've stayed at on this trip however it's really nice! It was easy to find, all the staff have been very helpful and even has offered tips on helping me find an apartment. The General Manager is a lovely lady who takes time to talk with her guests and make them feel at home. And there was no problem when I needed to extend my stay with them!
I highly recommend the Drury Inn at Highland Mall (the other one has sold, so this is the only one in town now). You can't beat the price, the rooms or the additional items like a cooked hot breakfast nor the managers social each day.
Check to see if their is a Drury Inn Hotel where you travel next! You will be a convert also!
Pros: I wish I had more then two thumbs
Cons: None
