I've read the reviews, on Dr. Scumpia, in this forum. I had been a patient of this doctor and what everyone have written, I've experienced too. Until Dr. Scumpia, I have never seen such an impatient doctor who seems annoyed if you ask her a question. The exam takes a few seconds of her time. She doesn't ask how you're doing or if you have any questions...all you get is silence. If you do have a question, you better get it out immediately, as she'll be at the door, with her hand on the door knob, right after she jots down a few words in your file. She is no longer my doctor. I've switched to someone that is totally the opposite of Dr. Scumpia.

I could too give her a million negative reviews!! The first time I met with Dr. Scumpia she was in a hurry, she left the room after being there less than 5 minutes and left the P.A. to answer any questions that I might have. I have been 'cared' by a P.A. only (different one every time), and haven't seen the doctor since I can't remember..I wonder how they can charge insurance companies for a Dr. visit when she is never ever there! I have been very patient but that's it, I am finding myself a new Dr. and anybody considering going to her, DON'T!

Amazed after my 1st appt, no eye contact, didn't even ask me why I was there! Scheduled lab and another appt in a week to get the results. Showed up, only to learn that she was out of the country vacationing and I couldn't get my lab results interpreted. Horrid. Wish I had read the reviews before I went.

Has the bedside manner of a chalkboard. Very little eye contact. She doesn't respect the patient's time; she didn't tell me that one lab was going to take over 2 hours! She doesn't give information to the patient about the condition she says they have. She just proclaims what they have and says what the treatment is. No discussion. Do not go to this doctor. There are plenty of endocrinologists in the Austin area.

Was not impressed with her at all. No bedside manner - no useful information obtained during my visit - just a very unpleasant lady. Wasn't interested in my questions or providing any answers - hadn't reviewed chart before coming in to see me. Won't be back to this one!

She has a horrible manner with her patients. She proclaims that they have conditions of which she has never tested them. She does not answer patient questions. She is abrupt and rude. She keeps patients waiting a long time for their appointments (an hour is common). She does not believe that her patients should have any say in their care, and expects complete obedience. Do not go to her!

She was the WORST "doctor" I ever visited. If the school from where she graduated honors the Hippocratic Oath, they would REVOKE her license to practice medicine. I have never been so insulted in all my life...she casually dismissed me after a mere 3 minute "exam" and REFUSED to grant my request for a blood test. She did not ask me any substantive questions, nor did she make any effort to communicate with me. On top of that, she mislabeled my file and I was thrown into a massive fight with my already-crappy insurance provider because they refused to honor the claim or acknowledge the mistake.
