Jessica, the new aesthetician is amazingly skilled. My facial was everything a facial should be - targeted to my specific skin care needs (yes, she actually asked), calming, rejuvenating. The products are great but the magic is in Jessica's technique. Just the right amount of pressure in smooth, repetitive motions is oh-so relaxing with special attention to the temples, forhead and jaw where we all hold tension. Her abundant use of hot, steamy towels makes you feel totally decadent . While your mask does its work, she moisturizes your hands, arms, shoulders by rubbing in a creamy lotion to complete your relaxation. The space is lovely - quiet and serene. Jessica is warm and personable but so respectful of the client's privacy needs allowing you to enjoy the peace, quiet, and stillness after the facial. She's my girl from now on in...give yourself an hour....you'll be glad you did.
P. S. While I don't do waxing....I've heard she's able to deliver 'slick as a whistle' and is as 'ouchless' as you can get.
Pros: Friendly people with a calm atmosphere...it was a retreat.

I regularly go to this salon for my hair but I decided to get my eyebrows waxed last week because my usual girl at another place was out of town. Boy, am I glad I did! It was hands down the best eyebrow shaping and wax I've ever had. Their new esthetician Jessica is an ace. I came back on Saturday for a facial with Jessica and I never knew this is what they're supposed to be like. I fell asleep twice I was so relaxed! My skin has never looked better and my husband actually noticed and gave me a compliment! That is a first! Shes definitely the only one I'm going to from now on and I cant recommend her or the staff there highly enough. Five stars.

I'm not much on writing reviews but I definitely read them as I feel they contain valuable information; especially when it might involve my hair.
I felt compelled to write because Jamie T. is a fantastic hair stylist and I was so happy with her I felt I just needed to tell someone. She cut my hair exactly how I requested, and gave me a fabulous color. She was just so pleasant to talk to as well. I highly recommend her for anyone out there looking for an awesome, talented girl to take care of her or his hair or beauty needs.

I acted upon a referal from a lady in the grocery store and it turned out to be one of the best things I have done in a very long time. Saw her and loved her hair and she referred me to Jamie at the Island Salon and Spa. She is a wonderful hair stylist and has a great attitude and professionalism. I do not always act so impulsively but I did this time and I won. I did enjoy my appointment with Jamie and I also enjoyed how everyone made me feel so comfortable.

This was by far the worst brazilian wax I have ever had. Not only that, but the staff was extremely unprofessional. In the middle of my wax, the technician's phone rang and to my horror--she answered it as I was lying on the waxing table feeling extremely uncomfortable. She proceded to talk on the phone for a couple of minutes.
I was in utter shock that someone would do this in the middle of an akward treatment. In addition to the unproffesionalism, I was bleeding in several spots where I was waxed and this had never happened to me before--EVER. My skin was red and irritated for days.
I never take the time to write reviews, but thought that people should be warned before spending a lot of money for poor service. Go somewhere else!!

Although the location did not look the same as in the Video (no candles, no artfully painted walls, no palm tree ambience as the camera shows), the booking included a confirmation call from the stylist. Christiana was cheerful, accommodating and at ease. The appointment provided flexibility to craft the cut, and Christiana was both patient and willing to take on ideas to create a cut that was tailored and worked. And to get this service and cut for the price paid was just the result I wanted: A great value for a quality, tailored cut and personable experience. Thank you.

I would highly recommend Island Salon and Spa...Paulla is the manicurist there and she is not only thorough in her work...but has a good sense of humor...I love her attention to detail and her cleanliness, which was a huge plus for me...It was well worth paying a little extra for a superior service...won't find that at many salons in town...THANKS, PAULLA!!! You will not be disappointed with Ruby Singh, the salon's wax professional. She is an expert at what she can do for you. Her experience is revealed as she helps you to relax if it is your first time, and if not, then be ready for some down to earth conversation. She' never in a rush, and takes the extra time to make sure you are completely satisfied w/your new look. I will never ever go anywhere else...and yes..she uses powder and also cleans up the sticky wax.

BUT this time I went in for a "Pob". I had hair that feel half way down my back, long and straight and i wanted something new! So Wes listened to what I wanted and gave me a wonderful cut! I absolutely LOVE my cut and couldnt of asked for a better job than was done by Wes!
I have had TONS of compliment on my hair today and have referred him to many people :) Thanks Wes for the glorious cut and color!

Before I decided to write this review I read the other reviews about Island Salon and Spa, and most other reviews were very positive and I toatally agree with them. However what i didnt agree with was the person who wrote "worst Manicure ever", I had my nails done at the Island and by far it had exceeded my expectations. Everyone there is very professional and easy going, I wasn't pressured into buying anything which was a nice change.. They are very flexiable with appointments and I will reccomend this place to everyone I know.
Pros: Ambience, Service, Unpressured, Clean
