My Dad who is an alzheimer's patient needed to be "relaxed" because of his tendencies of combativeness at his assisted living home. They recommended Auburn Geri-Psych so off he went. He spent 4 weeks there. And he walked in on his own two feet. When he came out he was in a wheelchair and so heavily medicated it would have put down a horse. They put him on five different meds to be given twice a day to keep him "managable". They admitted to needing five people to put him in "timeout" cuz he was combative. He's scared you idiots. They also admitted to using six people to give him a shower. This many against one happened numerous times. When I got him back he had serious sores on his heals from laying in bed so long. And he's whincing of pain in his hip. He has yet to walk again and after two months you would think he should come out of his dark hole that they put him in. They perscribed depacote, resperdal, adavan, and a few others to all be taken twice a day. He was able to run before going there. I hate that place. They don't know what the hell they're doing. And the people working up there don't really seem to care about what is best for the patient. A lot of money was paid to them and they should all be removed from the hospital. I gave them a rating of 1 cuz they did feed him. They suck!
Pros: None
Cons: They really don't know what they are doing

Auburn Regional Medical Center is ABSOLUTELY the WORST hospital I have been to in the last 10 years. I actually have a list of the unbelievably ridiculously awful things they do over there:
1/ They are quite reserved with words, and like to use fingers to communicate rather than their mouths
2/ They're extremely careless with their diagnosis. My sister had some severe pain in her back, and they only took a 1 second look and said "You're fine"
3/ They tried to do a minimum job. When my sister was discharged, they asked her to sign the discharge paper without even telling her what it is or that she was being discharged. She couldn't even move yet. The nurse (his name was f..king JOE) dumped a wheelchair next to her bed and disappeared faster then lightning
4/ They're extremely mean. My sister, who was unable to move, asked a nurse to get her the phone in the table right next to the bed so she could call home and let us know where she was, and the nurse said "TOO FAR"????
To summarize, you're guaranteed to be treated like dirt if you go there. There were a couple of nice nurses, sorry I didn't take their name, and I appreciate what they've done. But I WOULDN'T recommend going there at all

My dog stepped on my foot and it kept swelling up intermittently over a 2 month period. I went in on a Saturday explaining that I think it was broken and asked them to do x-rays. I waited for hours until they "wheeled me" up to "Ultrasound" and called me by a totally different name. After I explained that I was not that person, they looked annoyed with ME and "wheeled me" back to wait in my room for more hours without saying ONE word to me!
I think they forgot about me, so I flagged them down and asked for an x-ray. They brought an ultrasound person into my room and did an ultrasound on my leg!! Then they said "there's no clots, so you're free to go." I was not amused and said "I came in here for a simple x-ray, I have a broken bone in my foot.. .and I've been her for 6 hours, so GIVE ME MY X-RAY!"
They said "If it's still swollen on Monday (it had been 2 months why would Monday be some magical unicorn day)... "If it's still swollen on Monday, go into your doctor." What a crock! I insisted on an x-ray and they said they "had done all that they could do for the day."
To add insult to their ignorance, my insurance paid promptly for their antics, and I paid my $200 co-pay for wasting my Saturday, but they began calling and threatening to send me to collections even though all was paid! (My doctor on Monday found the break and sent me on my way with a cas in a span of 35 minutes by the way, for probably 1/10th of what Auburn Regional charged for absolutely nothing)!!
I returned Auburn Regionals calls pointing out repeatedly that it was paid in full. The girl that sounded like a 14 year old girl that answered their business office repeatedly checked my records and said agreed that it was paid in full and said she'd call the agency they use for billing and notify them it was clearly paid in full.
This happened repeatedly, but the collection calls kept coming. Finally I tried to lodge a formal complaint with Auburn Regional about receiving services I did not go in for and about their billing agency harassing me, but the same 14 year old girl would not let me file the complaint, she kept deflecting the complaint process promising she would put an immediate end to the billing agency thinking it was unpaid,. I told her she has promised me that repeatedly, yet they keep calling and I don't want my good credit ruined.
She then said she'd call me within 24 hours to confirm. She never called. Now I have an Experian "Client Collections Inc." collections notice on my credit report that I have to battle for another 6 months!! All this for services I never ordered!
Pros: None
Cons: Unorganized and a Waste of Time

wanna see Doctors, Nurses every day under stress, yelling on each other? How about stinky homeless people in your room? If so, close your eyes and go there.
