Centennial Olympic Park is a patchwork of green grass and red brick. It offers entertainment all year round. In the summertime there are fountains spraying from the five rings of the Olympic logo, free concerts and picnics. In the winter there is ice skating and holiday festivities. Be sure to see The Quilt of Remembrance in the NW corner of the park, a memorial to those killed by the 1996 Olympic bombing. While there are several restaurants nearby, if you get hungry to CNN Center's food court where the food is less expensive. Hint: Competitive sports, skating, biking and feeding the pigeons are prohibited.

It is the same place where the Olympics took place in 1996 and from then it has been well recognised by the world. But in over all there is not much to do in the park...In summers..u can njoy fountain shows and kids can ride their bikes n all..and in winters..u can just njoy the sun and just relax..The entry to park is free and at times they have some kinda competetion or shows on national holidays.

This is a good place to go if you are already doing something else in downtown. Not really worth a trip just to visit the park. On a hot day the kids can get wet with the fountains, in the evenings you can sit and watch the musical fountains and have a picnic. There is plenty of green space and it is always kept up pretty nice. Not too many trees for shade so I wouldn't go when it is real hot. In Winter there is a nice but pretty small, ice skating rink which is a bit different. Fun outdoors activity for the kids and I don't think it costs too much.

This is a very nice spot for the family or a couple to go out and enjoy the breeze and views of downtown atlanta. The young kids can get wet by the ground shooting fountains and you can even have a quick sandwich lunch. There are alot of homeless sitting around but none mean to cause any danger but will ask for extra change or at least a game of chess. This is the home of the 96 olympics and was built especially for that event. It's an easy walk from many if not all of the major downtown hotels.

Located in down town Atlanta, this 21 acre park is from the 1996 Centennial olympic games. it feature a fountain rings with four shows daily, The park celebrates summer with free concerts on wednesdays all summer long. Have free fun from spring until fall wiht the parks every fourth saturday family fun day. Activities include touring shows, street preformers, activities for kids and special displays. e go often and really enjoy the park.

Thanks to Atlanta hosting the Olympics a few years back, Atlantans received a beautiful park in the middle of downtown. Adjacent to the CNN Center and Phillips Arena, this park is the site for many events throughout the year, including many great concerts. People working in surrounding buildings flock there for lunch to enjoy nice weather, and during the hot summers, kids play in the fountains that squirt water in the pattern of the Olympic logo of the five rings. It's a blast!

This is the site of the latest Olympic Games held in the United States. Atlanta was really a great host for these games. They totally revamped the city to accomodate all the athletes and fans who were coming into town and it helped develop it into the city it is today. Though the bombing really left its mark on history, this site is a great place to walk around in the evening.

My family had such a fantastic time at Centennial Olympic Park!! We played on the playground for a while, walked around and enjoyed the pond and fish. The best part by far though was the fountains. My son was only 1 1/2 when we took him for the first time and he could not get over how the water jumped out of the ground. Also, he loved watching the big kids frolic. I didn't think he would be up to playing so I foolishly didn't bring him a suit...he ended up riding home in just a diaper because that child was SOAKED! It's a fantastic free activity for your kids on a hot summer day and the city plans free activities throughout the summer as well. Highly recommended.

'96 olympics not only brought atheletes to atlanta, but a wave of growth. there is a glut of good food close to the park, as well as a bunch of pretty visitas. During the winter, there is ice skating - thats right, ice skating in atlanta! Casual atmosphere, nice and free, everything's great except for parking is difficult to find. its also a break from the atlanta downtown hustle and bustle that happens daily

My family and I love going to the fountains at Centennial Plympic Park....it's free and a great way to cool off on a hot day! You can also look at all the personalized bricks, catch a concert on some days or stop in the CNN Center for a snack orr a tour. SO much to do in one area and it's all low cost or free! My kids' love [laying in the fountains...there are always lots of other families and kids there enjoying it too. We sometimes take a picnic and relax in the grassy areas after an afternoon of playing.
