Worst

Overpriced, mediocre food. The ambiance is bad too. Avoid at all costs.

Nice atmosphere/ OK food 4/7/2006

Twist is located in Phipps Plaza so it's an ideal location to meet people after work. The restaurant has a very 'hip' vibe. The menu is huge and there are many different types of food to choose from. They have sushi, tapas, and 'regular' food. I went with a party of four and all of us were happy with our orders off the respective menus. Our only complaint was our waiter. He was attentive at first but had little patience for any questions we may have had about the menu items. (We were there on a weekday evening and it wasn't very busy.) more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Tucked into a sterile wing of Phipps Plaza, this fantasyland of wood, glass and light is more like a nightclub than a restaurant. Lighting creates intimacy and warmth in what could be a chilly, cavernous space. Buckhead matrons rub shoulders with their younger bleached and groomed counterparts. Servers offer casual attitudes and stellar service.

    The Food

The menu is a multiculti selection of tapas, salads, satay and seafood. A bold standout is the appetizer "sharing salad" of calamari with frisee, radicchio, cashews, hearts of palm and bananas in citrus vinaigrette. An entree of forearm-sized prawns (heads and all) arrives beautifully plated in white-bean ragout. The imaginative sashimi tuna pizza on a toasted tortilla with wasabi mayo more than compensates for the so-so chicken empanada and shrimp dumplings in Thai curry cream. Warm fruit crisp of rhubarb, and strawberries with homemade buttermilk ice cream are exceptional desserts.
