this is where music midtown takes place, along with many other events, such as jazzfest. Probably one of the most scenic jogs around town. The only problem is that its packed on weekends, and its difficult to find parking. you can walk to midtown after visiting the park to have a few drinks or a small bite to eat. great park

For a great Sunday afternoon, head over to the Georgia Doom to watch the Falcons play. It was one of the best sporting events I've ever been to. The stadium is so huge and so loud, plus MIchael Vick is amazing to see live and in person. The Falcons have a good shot of going to the Super Bowl this year if Vick doesn't get hurt so go catch a game, you won't be disappointed.

Watching a film at the historic Garden Hills Cinema in Buckhead is like stepping back into the golden age of theaters. Unlike today's megaplexes, Garden Hills has one big screen, and a velvet curtain opens before each movie. The seats are old, too, but somehow it adds to the ambience. Garden Hills specializes in foreign and indie films. The popcorn is also some of the best in town.

I love this station. Morning Edition is a great way to catch up with the news, and the classical music throughout the day is a great background with which to entertain.
Favorite programs: Fresh Air with Terry Gross and Car Talk with Click and Clack. Don't miss A Prairie Home Companion as well.
Local personalities are fine, but the national programming is what really stands out here.

The Breman and Oakland Cemetary, are two great places to learn about the History of Atlanta's Jewish Community. The history area section, you can trace your family's beginning's, like mine, to the 1860's. Especially all the immigrant merchant's we had, including the Rich Brother's. An empire was born here, and helped me pay my way through Georgia State University. The Holocaust area, is very moving, and sad, but has helped our community to be stronger than ever. A rotating exhibit, always brings new light on The Jewish Experience. Currently, The Lodz G-etto/Camp Album, is on display. Naysayers, come here, and learn/ see what happened to Six Million of God's People!
Pros: Detailed Atlanta Jewish History! Survior's Stories Recorded!
Cons: n/a

This past Saturday I went to the Roxy theatre here in Atlanta and saw Jon McLaughlin and Sister Hazel in concert. It was so so SO much fun!! The music was rockin' and the Roxy is a very intimate venue so binoculars are not needed (haha).
For general admission it's standing room on the main floor, but the balcony has seating, which is where me and my friend went. We had a great view and the balcony was not that crowded at all. Plenty of room with people coming and going, so we got to see and enjoy the show comfortably (thank goodness 'cause I wore wedges). They have two open bars, as well as a separate station for can/bottle beers. Prices were a little steep, but normal for an event like this.
I can't wait to go back to another show there, but next time I'll either get there right when the doors open so I can get the best balcony seats, or wear flats and come a little early for a great standing spot on the main floor.

We won free tickets for a performance and I really did not know what to expect. I was amazed with the puppets, humor and the show. It was great and everyone enjoyed it - myself and my husband and my 3.5 year old and 1.5 year old. After the show we attended the create your own puppet workshop which was a great way to end the show and bring home our very own puppet souvenir. Highly recommend even if you do not have kids. They also have adult only shows.

There's really nothing quite like a night at the ballet - the elegance, the grace, the excitement. Although I love Georgia Ballet, Atlanta Ballet reigns supreme. Begun 75 years ago as the Dorothy Alexander Concert Group, they've had plenty of time to get it perfect. It is the oldest professional dance company in America. I've been lucky enough to attend at least one performance given by Atlanta Ballet since I was young. In that time, I've been lucky enough to have seen shows such as Romeo and Juliet, The Nutty Nutcracker, Dracula, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Gwinnett Interlude, The Indigo Girls Project and, of course, The Nutcracker Suite. Although these performances include a variety of styles and genres, each one was excellent and performed with perfect.
The Centre for Dance Education is also an important part of Atlanta Ballet. The Centre offers classes for children as young as four, an acclaimed pre-professional division and a variety of exciting dance classes ranging from modern and jazz to swing and hip-hop.
