Great to sit outside. Great burgers. Killer onion rings. Dirty bathroom.

I would say the flatiron is my "go to place" it's very much a neighborhood bar. My husband and I eat there a lot. I go there by myself some times too. I never feel uncomfortable because like other reviewer have said it's your neighbor's. Non pretentious wait staff and service. Come as you are and enjoy a beer and a burger. I think their burger's are better than the Earl's and the hummus plate is a must try.
Pros: Great food and drinks
Cons: Never a bad experience here.

The food is good, the atmosphere is lively and the beer has plenty of choices. This hangout is a must for a complete EAV experience. If you are headed to EA just for the Flatiron then I should mention the parking which is scarce to say the least. Once you find safe haven for your car then try to get the most E. Atlanta you can. Do some shopping, get a drink one place and then have lunch or dinner at the Flatiron. The atmosphere is very rich here as this is one of the oldest buildings in East Atlanta.

the flatiron is absolutely my "cheers." i have a drink waiting for me before i can sit down at the bar. the waitstaff knows my name and my friends' names. it's the most comfy place i can think of in the world. the food is great, the drinks are potent, the staff is amazing, and you'll never walk in and not find a friend there. i cannot say enough great things about this place, my "second home."
Pros: best staff, best drinks, best atmosphere, best location!
Cons: this place has never done me wrong.

The last time I went to the Flation was in the early 2000's and was quite disappointed. I decided to give it another chance and was glad I did. They have put out a new menu with very tastey treats, I will go as far as to say some of the best bar food in Atlanta( I had the Black and Blue salad and my lady had the Flatiron burger with a hummus appetizer). As far as the service, it was on point. There were actually 3 bartenders/ servers running around to help all of the guests, there was always someone coming around willing to help. Oh and the personality of the staff was awesome! There was a very hot, Bond girl-esque blonde covered in tattoos, another gal that looked remnicent of a pinup girl( I think she said her name was Sally), and a fella that my gal thought was quite handsome that came off like everyones favorite pal. As far as the bad service reviews from the past, I am hear to squash them. It was very busy and those 3 took care of everyone! P.S. My woman is a bartender and if anyone ever wants to complain about bartenders doing shots while they work... remember where you are and know that why they drink is to better tollerate all of the drunks that they deal with on a nightly basis and this probably includes you!
Pros: service, food, non-threatening rock and roll atmosphere, lots of bars to hop to
Cons: parking in east atlanta can be dodgy with so many bars and restaraunts around

Their burger, particularly the swiss and mushroom burger was bar none my favorite in Atlanta. Every time I've had it, it has been consistently delicious. And whatsmore, is you can get it with a whole wheat bun, which is rare. Also worth mentioning is their pineapple upside down cake shot. YUM. Ask for it by name. Service? It's a bar. I don't expect top notch service. I go for the food and the drink shots and I'm not disappointed by either.

I sat down at the bar and ordered food and I've never had such poor service. I saw the bartenders doing shots while my beer sat empty. I had to actually flag someone down in order to get a drink. The owner is always there, but obviously he isn't sharp enough to know when he needs to hire new help. It is a shame the food is solid and area is improving, but the service is getting worse. The too cool guy and the other two chicks just can't get it done. I won't go back again!!!!
Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking, Location
Cons: Service, Service, Service

The Flatiron ranks as a good, non-threatening place to start your East Atlanta evening. A nice bar menu and good beer selection puts this spot at the top of many people's list to just hang. The earlier you go the better chance you have of hearing your table mate's conversation. It gets real loud as the night wears on. A much younger (just turned 21) crowd frequents the place, but there's some old-timers there as well.
