What a fun and enjoyable place is Dante's. You really do feel like you are on an island or part of a ship's crew. The atmosphere at Dante's is really very unique, and a nice place for an evening date. The fondue was amazing, and really the first time I had experienced another form of fondue, outside of chocolate and cheese. At the time I thought it was a little pricey, but for the Buckhead area I really think it is a bargain.

One thing, even if you can't see the music if you can hear it you will be charged an entertainment fee on your receipt so get a good table if you want to listen you might as well. Great fondue. Very basic fondue, but the cuts of meat and the sauces to dip in were excellent. There are two locations of this restaurant but Down the Hatch in Buckhead is by far the better. A good choice for a first date, at least you'll have something to do and something to talk about should conversation stall. Reservations will be necessary and parking can be a pain, but you're near everything else if you want to make a night of Atlanta.

I LOVE fondue and Dantes Down the Hatch is great fondue and a really fun atmosphere in which to eat that fondue! You literally walk 'down' to the restaurant and enter a sort of cavernous restaurant. The times I have been there the restaurant has had live music playing but I'm not certain it's always the case. They also have live alligators in moats around the restaurant which makes it sort of neat. The food is good. They have some non fondue items but why are you here if you don't want fondue? Food is alright but the atmosphere makes the restaurant for me.

The thing I love about Dante's is how it reminds me of the country replicas at Epcot's crossed with Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. It's a place you have to see to believe, from the entrance all the way to the bathrooms. Oh, and the LIVE crocodiles?! Very cool. The food itself is quite yummy and they have various types of fondue among other things. It is a bit pricey ($20-25 per fondue platter), but I have yet to finish a whole one. Also, on some nights you'll find Dante himself chatting you up at your table!

Grab your loved one close and head out for a romantic evening at the superb art house theater in Buckhead. This place definitely has the feel of an arthouse-one screen-slightly dusty, dark-and they play great art films. Make sure you grab a bite to eat at Fellini's pizza next door and make it a night to remember.

The best thing about Dante's is the way the restaurant looks and the live music. The entire restaurant is constructed to look like a pirate ship. It so different and original from normal restaurants, plus it look amazing. Also, for seven bucks extra you can sit in the live music area which usually has a good jazz band. Regarding the food, if you are vegetarian, you don’t have many choices. Overall the food is mostly limited to different kinds of fondue.
