Best

Wow! I have only been here once, but am in love with the place. I saw CATS here a while back - and okay, yes, the show - ROCKED - of course. But the FOX itself is beautiful. Cl...

The FABULOUS Fox 4/17/2006

We recently took a tour of the fabulous Fox Theatre and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I learned a lot of information about this impeccably preserved magnificent landmark that has been designated a National Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally built in the late 1920s as the Yaarab Temple Shrine Mosque, it has survived depression, mortgage foreclosure, bankruptcy, competition, and a force which affects all of us, age. Through the work of volunteers and skilled artisans, The Fox Theatre has not only survived but been restored to its original opulent grandeur. Today, it regally hosts a variety of programs - theatre shows (such as The Phantom of the Opera, Riverdance, Radio City Christmas Spectacular), Delta International Series' musical presentations (opera, Gilbert and Sullivan, Mozart, ballet), weddings and receptions, corporate affairs and cocktail parties. Whether it be in The Egyptian Ballroom, The Grand Salon, The Arcade, on The Terrace or the Theatre Stage, your wedding, reception or party will be unrivaled. more

Gorgeous inside! 9/17/2005

The Fox is a must see in Atlanta, The interior will take your breath away. In addition to concerts, plays and performances the Fox offers a guided tour of the theatre where they explain the history behind the theatre. The interior 'sky' of the theatre is illuminated and contributes to a magical night. I can't imagine any bad performance if it is inside the Fox because just going inside is a treat! more

A True Showplace 9/15/2005

The Fox Theatre is a classic Atlanta institution. This is the place to go to dress up and see a quality performance (and show off). The Fox annually hosts Broadway shows, film series, and classic entertainment. I would suggest getting there early though, to find a nearby place to park. Nearby lots are expensive, but there are lots in the vicinity that are at all price points. Dress up, see the show, check out the architecture(lobby and balcony) and enjoy the grandeur of Old Atlanta. more

Atlanta vibe, GREAT PLACE! 9/6/2005

Whether you have lived in Atlanta all of your life or are visiting for the weekend, the Fox Theatre is a glamorous view of the cities historical background. There are always great concerts, plays, and events going on at the Fox. I have been to several concerts and plays, and the Nutcracker at Christmas, and I had prom here in the Egyptian Ballroom in high school. It has never disappointed and I have always enjoyed myself. This theatre is great and the ceiling with the stars is romantic. I always feel like Scarlett O'Hara when I visit. Grab your Rhett and head down to the Fox Theatre. more

Fox Theatre 8/21/2005

One word best describes the Fox Theater. Amazing. It is literally like having Broadway in Atlanta, especially when the Phantom of the Opera and others make a stop over at the Fox. Everyone in Atlanta has heard of the Fox and everyone should go there at least once and see what it is all about. more

wonderful venue 8/19/2005

My college has had its formal here for as long as I can remember, and it's the perfect place. The Egyptian ball room is a pretty expansive room that could probably fit several hundred people at capacity. There's a nice stage, and the decorations are very Egyptian, I guess you could say. We had a great time, and the staff they had working there was very helpful and courteous. We couldn't have asked for a better formal. more

Fabulous 8/19/2005

The Fabulous Fox Theater is one of the crown jewels of Atlanta. After is was saved from razing by a committed group of citizens, this theater has seen a resurgence of popularity. Now they host concerts, plays, operas, and even movies throughout the year. The last time I went, it was to see a movie during the Coca-Cola Film Festival that was held during the summer. Before the show, they have a guy playing songs on the organ that everyone sings along to and it was great! The design inside is really cool, feels like you're in a Byzantine or Moorish castle. Definitely recommend this place. more

Atmosphere Galore 8/18/2005

This place is perfect for a date. There is so much to look at that if you're bored you can watch people or investigate all the side rooms! Just kidding, it's a beautiful space, and small enough that any seat is terrific. They have movies during the summer and it's fun to watch them on this huge screen with live piano accompanyment. I've seen a Les Mis. here a couple of times, and it was just as good as NY. more

Fox 8/17/2005

The Fox Theater is a landmark in Atlanta. Whenever a Broadway show or great musical act comes to the South, one of their stops is always the Fox. It has the old style arcitecture and great acoustics that make watching a show or concert their really special. And its location is downtown makes it really easy to get to. more

Gorgeous building!! 8/7/2005

If you want to visit a stunning building that will make even a so so performance memorable, come to the Fox Theatre. A historic landmark in Atlanta, the Fox is a place where locals attend proms, fundraisers, opera, plays and watch movies. The building is beautiful and walking in makes you feel as though you've stepped back into the 'Old South'. Some advice - come early in order to find an open lot to park in. Sometimes you'll be lucky but I have had to walk what felt like miles before. Also, if you are a female you might want to skip a pre-performance drink as the lines to the ladies room during any intermission are unbelievably long. more
