I lived in Denver most of my life and have been eating at Jim's Burger Haven for 45 plus years. My husband and I started eating there when they were on the corner at 84th and a block west of Washington. I don't remember the name of the street. They didn't have seating and all you did was get your order and take it home. We moved to Wyoming 18 years ago but I still make it a point to eat at Jim's when I come to town. Keep making the good hamburgers.
Pros: Good food

After being in a half dozen weddings I felt like I had seen it all as far as bridal shopping went. When I finally became a Bride-to-be, I was referred by a co-worker to try Amanda's Bridal & Tux . She and her two sisters all bought their gowns there several years ago. I have to say it was the best experience ever. First, they were super easy to find at I-70 ans Wadsworth. When I arrived on a Wednesday after work, without an appointment, they happily showed me arround and assigned me a HUGE dressing room and consultant (Jan). I found several dresses that I thought I would like and Jan recommended a few more. After an hour or so, Jan said "I have an idea, let's just try one more for FuN"...well that was it...LOVED it and it was $400 below my budget. She sure knew her stuff !! I have been back several times with all my maids and every visit has been fun. Note, it is really busy on Saturdays. My "#1 Dude" also got his Tux at a great discount .
Pros: price, selection, consultants
Cons: none

We took our firstborn son to Dr. Starbuck when our son was a newborn to age 2. Our second son saw Dr. Starbuck from age newborn to 6 months. My husband did not care for this doctor right away, but we kept going to him.
We needed a referral for an allergy specialist for our oldest and got one right away. When we needed another referral for our youngest a few months later, Dr. Starbuck wanted us to take the boys to two separate allergy specialists. That made no sense, and we were not willing to do this. We have known the allergy doc for 15 years and trusted none other.
There were other things, like the 45 minute wait for a well child check up. This was the norm, not just a few times.
It was our long trusted allergy doctor who referred us to the boy's new pediatrician, who we are 100% happy with.

Firstly, there are two Yak and Yetis. Both excellent, however we feel this one is still better than their sister restaurant on 58th avenue.
Second, you can eat off the menu or the buffet. Both are awesome, you cannot find a better Indian buffet anywhere, but the ordering off the menu far outshines their buffet! It truly is the best Indian food in town if you go that route. The service is incredibly friendly. They care. Bottom line.
We come in often with our kids and one time brought a group of friends in who all live downtown and only eat at the nicer places there and in cherry creek. They were all very impressed. Even moreso when the owners started bringing out many other items we did not order for us to sample. They have the standard Naan which is awesome and comes free. But they also have a variety of flavors that will amaze you! Try them all!
Everything is full flavored here. No skimping on seasoning and flavors. Great variety in the buffet and again... ordering off the menu... Wow.
We took our kids to Bombay Clay oven in Cherry Creek. They thought it was no where near comparable to Yak and Yeti. And they were right! We were shocked!
Not the fanciest, but the tastiest!
Pros: Best in town
Cons: not the fanciest of joints

Okay...you know what I mean. Not that it feels like an institution--it's just been around for a long time!!!
And you can see why. What the menu lacks in imagination, it makes up for in consistently good quality. This is a place for comfort food with a bit of panache thrown in. It's not posh, but it's well..."comforting". The staff are attentive, but there is sometimes not enough of them. I've never had a bad meal there. Portions are quite large and you'll have enough for the next day.
I wouldn't take a date there hoping to impress, but I would definitely make it one of my regular stops for a good meal that doesn't take too big of a chunk out of my wallet.

We have been going to Old Neighborhood for several years. In the medium price range it is without a doubt the nicest restaurant on the northwest side. Great food, good prices and exceptional service. The other reviews must have been for the place across the street because they obviously have not been there.

We have been eating at Amici's for years. The food is delicious and the salad dressing is worth a visit in itself. The sauce is not too spicy and the food is always fresh. The pizzas are simply one of the best that Denver has to offer. It is family owned and the ambiance and decor have a family feel to it. It is decorated differently each month with special touches. Due to the family operation, they do close a couple of weeks out of the year for vacations. This is a bummer if you have an Amicis craving during one of those times, as Amici's completely closes down.
