I've been to Mac's more than a couple of times and have never had a bad meal or experience. Our food has always been cooked perfect and we love to try new items on the menu. The quality of the food is great and the value is really unbelievable. The best filet I've ever had, and my husband loves the prime rib and shrimp combination. We'll be back!!!!!!

We used to frequent Mac's when we first moved to S. Arlington from N. Arlington 17 years ago. The food and prices have always been inviting, and the noise tolerable on most occasions, but we stopped going back because we have never enjoyed good service - not once. We tried Mac's again recently and hoped for the best, but the service was again inattentive at best and incompetent at its worst. We invited friends who live right around the corner from the bar. I ordered a scotch - the bar has a great selection of single malts - and the glass had lipstick on it. That happens, but the replacement glass had a similar shade around the lip. The bartender, James, threw the glass into the sink and brought me another; with a bug in it. James threw this glass in the sink too, bringing the whole bar to attention. I have always wanted to like Mac's, but I doubt we or my friends will go back.

My family and I have eaten at Mac's fairly regularly, because the food is usually good, despite how noisy it is. However, we have now had two bad experiences at Mac's and may not return. The first experience was when we ordered Mahi Mahi and it took 20+ minutes from the time it was ordered, until it was delivered to the table, without any explanation as to why it took so long. We sat and watched numerous people who had arrived after us, order steaks and other meals and leave before we received our order. We had to speak with the Manager who explained that that particular plate often takes that long. If the restaurant has a plate that takes this long, they might consider either removing it from the menu or noting that it may take this long on the menu. Tonight, my in-laws were visiting and we took them to Mac's for dinner. When we arrived, we asked how long it would take to seat our 5-member party and they said it would be 15-20 minutes. We were willing to wait this long, but bordered on being too long. When they finally called us to be seated, they took us to a table for 4 and had a chair at the end of the table for the 5th person. All members of our party were at least 5 ft. tall and this was not a reasonable accommodation. Thus, we asked for a larger table, but were told that it would take another 15-20 minutes for a larger table. I told them that they should estimate the time for a table of 5 upon a table that would reasonably accommodate 5 people, because now we had already waited 20 minutes and were being asked to wait another 20 minutes. Therefore, the estimate should not have been 15-20 minutes originally, but should have been 35-40 minutes. We left .It was a bad experience and may not return.

I love Mac's. It is a small out of the way place that is very livley and entertaining. The food is steaks and seafood. All selcetions that I have tried have been wonderful. This is a hot spot for white coller middle aged people that like to have fun. I have also used their catering & it was wonderful. They did everything.

I love everything about Mac's. The atmosphere is casual enough for Texas but you feel like you're eating at a real steakhouse rather than a brass and fern chain. They have great, fresh menu items and their menu is not overpriced. A great place to take your boss or parents. Try the chicken fried steak or the gumbo, they are both great. The fish is always very good.

Mac's is the place to take your parents to dinner when they're visiting. It's got great food, a nice but not formal atmosphere, and its prices are enough to say you care without breaking the bank. Great place to get seafood (the gumbo's excellent) or even chicken fried steak. They also have a nice bar area you can lounge in while you wait for a table. Friendly staff.
