The thing that keeps me coming here is the prices. I have found that almost everything is lower here than at the other sporting goods stores. Although Academy seemed to be a little bit less organized. There were alot of things that were just laying in the wrong place. I found it kind of hard to find some stuff. At least they had good customer service. If it wasn't for them asking me if I needed anything almost every time they saw me, I would have been lost.

On those cold, dreary days when your grocery megastore has no fire wood, try Adam's Feed Store. They sell it by the log ($.75), by the "apartment stack" and by the cord. Friendly, helpful people.
When the weather begins to warm, visit Adam's for your green onion sets, tomato plants, etc.
If you have nothing better to do on a Saturday morning, stop by to visit the puppies for sale, the ducks, bunnies, chickens, fish, lizards, turtles, etc. You probably will not go home alone....

This is a great place to take the kids or even have a date night. The place is maintained and clean. Service is generally great. There is more than just bowling, but the kids always love to come here. We like the special events they offer, so check the calendar when you go.

This is a very nice little cigar shop that sits quietly in a strip center just west of HWY 157 (Collins St) on Green Oaks Rd. If you zoom home and forget to look north when passing this small strip center you will miss a great little shop with a helpful staff and some great smokes. The shop has three humidors with varying price levels and selection. A quiet seating area in the back for a welcome sit down with what we call "Non-Offending programming" to help you relax. The prices are competitive even with mail order and the service helps to make it a no-brainer pick. It's nice to be able to run down to the local shop for something new with out having to wait. I'll be shopping there more often.

More
The Arlington Museum of Art is in a beautiful midcentury building in old downtown Arlington. They hold regular exhibitions featuring young Texas artists, and they also host student shows in conjunction with UTA. The facility is pretty small, but they make the most of their resources. It's a really nice space. It's available for rentals, too, so they have all kinds of interesting events in there. They also have a pretty well known haunted house during the month of October.

I shop here from time to time to see if I can get sporting equipment cheaper than my normal stores. Sometimes they can beat the price, but others they don’t. They have the same selection as other stores, but they have a more personable staff to deal with and help you with questions. They have a lot for Team Sports like matching socks etc..

I've been thinking about buying a bicycle for awhile, but I'm always overwhelmed at the huge sporting good stores. No one seems to know what they're talking about, and I'm about to spend a lot of money. Bikes inc. is a small store, but they carry tons of bicycles and know what they're talking about. They'll help you find the perfect bike, and tell you how to maintain it.
