The esthetician seems to know her craft, albeit not being the most enthusiastic and attentive esthetician around.
May be she was so busy that day that she didn't pay any attention to the facial mask that she didn't completely peel off of my face. A large patch of the mask was still on the side of my lips, running down to my chin. It looks like I was drooling after a hot Italian male model. But wait, there are more unpeeled patches near my left eye brown. They were all clearly visible when I looked at myself on my car's rear view mirror.
This did not constitute a great facial!
What agitated me even more was how the checkout clerks did not bother to tell me I have patches of the mask left on my face. May be they think I like being a laughing-stock.
So I called the spa the day after. I informed the receptionist about the nature of my call, which is to log a complaint against her staffs. The first thing she did, without bothering to ask me to describe my negative experience, was to offer me some free sample products. How nice and generous, I guess I could end the call right there and be a happy camper, assuming that my goal for the complaint was to get some cheap sample products.
After explaining to her that I don't want any free products, and just want to log a complaint in order for her staffs to provide better customer services in the future, she then told me that the manager isn't in today. She then rudely hung up on me.
May be I should have tipped more than 20 dollars and spend more than $300 in beauty products to receive a more courteous response.
This is the epitome of poor customer services, and it is unacceptable in my book. If you want to be treated with care, respect and dignity, then I suggest you to avoid this place.

After reading the last few reviews I felt that I had to write one of my own that better described my experience! I began seeing the stylists at Daireds Salon two years ago after never really being happy with my color. Not only have I found a colorist and stylist who changed that for me, but all of my friends are now going to them as well! I have not once encountered any rudeness, or unprofessionalism from any of the staff at Daireds. On top of that, I also know for a fact that the stylists are sent to classes and events around the world to be the BEST in the area! I would recommend this salon to anyone who wants skilled, professionals who are truly talented. FIVE STARS!!!
Pros: highly trained stylists, friendly staff, beautiful atmospher
Cons: parking

I called here 3 times on 3 different days to inquire about their massage and hair cut services. Each time I called there was a different girl that answered the phone and each and everyone of them were rude! I simply asked some basic pricing information and 2 of them were very rude about helping me, almost as though i was making them work!!! hmm.. they acted like I was putting them out or something. The 3rd actually told me they do not give ANY pricing out over the phone. =0 Not even a basic price for a shampoo and cut. You can just tell these people are stuck up and not interested in the customer services they give, so with that said I am not interested in their services when there are plenty of other salons around.
Pros: pretty salon
Cons: rude staff!!!!!

I use to work there and let me say, they are the worst company to work for. The management doesn't care about anyone except the stylists and their bottom line. Customers are a second thought to them and overcharge for everything. I have seen the manager verbally abuse their workers in front of customers. Daireds is not a place where I would feel comfortable going back to have any service even though honestly, the people who are working there are for the most part competent and pleasant. If I could give them no stars I would.
Pros: Parking and atmosphere
Cons: Everything else

I must say first and foremost that I am usually a fan of Daired's. I have been going there for quite sometime now, so I know that they are not the cheapest salon around. However, I was very disappointed when I went in for partial highlights. I was charged $115!! My hair is not even long and my highlights were very subtle, which is what I asked for. My hairdresser maybe put 10 foils in my hair that may have taken her 15-20 minutes to place. When asked what my charges were, I was told $75 for the partial highlights, which I had anticipated, but then another $40 for a style!! I was under the impression that this service was included in the highlight price!! Was this a misconception that I had, or is this the norm for most salons? If I had been told about the extra charge for style, I would have happily left the salon with wet hair!! Now, I'm just left with a bad taste in my mouth about this...

I was charged 205 dollars for highlights and a root touch up. My hair is very short. I barely had any root showing. The highlight charge was 85 dollars which is not bad at all. But the root touch cost another 85 dollars and then they charged me for a toner. That was an additional 35 dollars. All of which was never
explained to me, and was 20 dollars a piece over the quoted price online. I called to make a complaint about the pricing and was basically told that's what the stylist charge and they can't do anything about it. I asked why i wasnt told what charges i was going to occur and they said it was my responsibility to ask.
I also requested to make a complaint with owner and was told by management that i would recieve a f/u call from him ( never did). And the kicker is my highlights are already washing out and it hasnt even been
two weeks yet!!! I was told they can reapply another "toner" but it would not be free. I have been to other higher end places such as ulta and visiable changes etc. and never have been charged that much, also they stand by there work, and if you have problems with color they will fix it at no additional charge.

After a hair disaster at another hair salon, I went to Daired's at the recommendation of my husband. He had always received good haircuts at Daired's no matter who his stylist was. I had an appointment with a random stylist and told her what had happened at the other hair salon. She listened to what I said and ended up giving me a fabulous haircut (which probably looked better than the original haircut I was trying to get). To me, it's always awkward to talk to a stylist for an entire hour or so, since I don't really know them, but she talked just enough. Not too little, not too much. Thanks, Daired's.

Definitely not worth the money and the hype. The robe they gave me did not have a fresh laundry sent, but more like it had been sitting in a locker room for months. I tried Darieds out for a deep tissue massage. The therapist was a nice lady, but she didn't do a great job staying focused on the the target areas we had previously discussed.
Pros: Lots of great parking.
Cons: Robes did not smell good. Started massage 6 minutes late and ended 3 minutes early.

As a reward to honor my decision to stop smoking, I researched many spas to pick the "perfect day" to help me relax, detoxify my body, and raise my spirits. A day at Daireds turned out to be the greatest blessing I ever could have found! The staff was very courteous, professional, caring. They were determinded to make my day the very best possible...and it was!!! Each staff member shared in my celebration with my life-altering decision to be a non-smoker. They cheered me on and helped me to reach one more day in the process of quitting. They were very timely in getting me from one treatment to the next. Their hospitality was top notch! They would ask if I needed anything at any time. The treatments that I indulged in were the hydrotherapy bath, mud body wrap, and facial. Each of these was completely worthwhile. The facials at Daireds are fabulous! Daireds staff took the time to meet with me to help me in choosing what was right for my skin and how to improve my overall health. I can't wait to go back and celebrate 1 month of non-smoking at Daireds! The day I spent at this spa is one day that I will never forget! Please...go and indulge yourself there...you will not regret it at all! Well worth the money!!!
Pros: professional; knowledgeable; relaxing; caring staff

The review posted by mojogirl could not have been more wrong. I have gone to this salon for 11 years, both for salon and spa services. I have never been pressured to buy any products. The service is professional but also personal. I noted the review was posted on 12-16-2005. Any establishment 9 days before Christmas would have to be somewhat hectic. The music mentioned by the reviewer was said to be so loud the stylist could not hear the customer. I certainly have never encountered anything like that in all the years I have gone there. I am always offered complimentary tea or water. Any salon that employs a large number of people would in all probability not appeal to everyone, but to label Daired's Salon & Spa Pangea "loud and crude" is unfair after just 1 visit. I'm also curious about this review being the only one shown when there were other favorable reviews.
