when I was in need of childcare for my strange hours at work, I began canvassaying the yellowpages for thoes agencies that offered after hour care.
I found only a few in Arlington and this place happend to be one of them. Of course I visited the place without giving them notice that I was comming and I was pretty much outraged at what I saw. Although there were not overt acts of abuse or neglect or anything that serious.
I did see a delapidated facilities that smelled like bleach. Many children running around aimlesly with only a few children to take care of them and I also notice some employees watching television. Yes thats right they were not watching the children, they were watching TV..
It was snack time and the children gathered for their snack of a cream filled cookie and some red juice.
I do not recomend this facility to anyone. It seems as they treat the children as chattel.

We used this location for Tiny Totts Gymnastics. We had a wonderful time. This is a class for parent and child. You get to do different activities together and learn different gymnastics. The kids look so cute doing their tumbling and it is a great bonding experience between parent and child. The staff is very friendly and classes are small. They are reasonably priced.

They take some of the best family portraits, but be prepared to pay for them. This is not a cheap studio, but the portraits are worth millions. The staff are very good and you always get the best pictures. Their bluebonnet photos are really great. They are worth the little extra for the quality you get.

More
My son attend Chesapeake Children's Academy when he was 1 years old, and I would recommend this day care to anyone. Its family run. The owner is a lady with a real enthusiasm for children. She loves what she does, and she does a good job at it. Her husband is a man with a gentle spirit who is working on his masters in child development (I think it's his masters--I may be wrong on that). They work with several other employees, so the child to caretaker ratio is very good.
The facilities are great. The walls are painted in bright colors, everything is kept clean and in good condition. There is a large shaded play area outside--and the children spend a good deal of time outside when the weather permits.
They do crafts with the children each day, have healthy meals, and send home daily reports on how the children are doing. One thing that impressed me is that my son rarely got sick while he was there--they do a good job of making sure that germs don't spread from child to child.
They have flexible hours--there is a 10 hour maximum each day, but you can pick up your child as late as 8:00, which is nice if you have an evening job.
They do watch a little bit more TV there than I would like--mainly in the mornings when children are being dropped off and evenings after most of the children have left. Other than that, I have no complaints.

CDSA is set in a woodslike setting which sets it apart from other private schools in the area. It is small so your child gets plent of one on one interaction with the teacher. They teach to each child's pace of learning. It is a very special school!
