My son attend Chesapeake Children's Academy when he was 1 years old, and I would recommend this day care to anyone. Its family run. The owner is a lady with a real enthusiasm for children. She loves what she does, and she does a good job at it. Her husband is a man with a gentle spirit who is working on his masters in child development (I think it's his masters--I may be wrong on that). They work with several other employees, so the child to caretaker ratio is very good.
The facilities are great. The walls are painted in bright colors, everything is kept clean and in good condition. There is a large shaded play area outside--and the children spend a good deal of time outside when the weather permits.
They do crafts with the children each day, have healthy meals, and send home daily reports on how the children are doing. One thing that impressed me is that my son rarely got sick while he was there--they do a good job of making sure that germs don't spread from child to child.
They have flexible hours--there is a 10 hour maximum each day, but you can pick up your child as late as 8:00, which is nice if you have an evening job.
They do watch a little bit more TV there than I would like--mainly in the mornings when children are being dropped off and evenings after most of the children have left. Other than that, I have no complaints.

CDSA is set in a woodslike setting which sets it apart from other private schools in the area. It is small so your child gets plent of one on one interaction with the teacher. They teach to each child's pace of learning. It is a very special school!

I started taking my daughter to the Emler Swim School in Arlington when she was 3 years old. She loved it! The instructors are very patient and use a lot of back patting, praise, and some M&Ms to encourage students. My daughter was never pushed or made to do anything she did not want to do, and she was reassured because she could see me watching her through the glass partition. After the lesson, she loved going down the water slide, and showering off underneath the palm tree. The facilities are clean, very colorful, and kid friendly. Lessons are 1/2 hour long and classes are small. Private lessons are also available. Emler has lessons for children as young as 6 months, as well as adult swim lessons. The facilities are all indoors and can be rented for b-day parties. Prices are reasonable and the instruction is priceless.

I'm might be considered by some to be phobic of hair salons due to some very bad experiences in the past. I found a great hair dresser in Mississippi but moved to Texas 2 years ago and have been scared to death to have anyone touch my hair, but I was to the point something had to be done. After weeks of research and thanks to reviews I read here about Shelton's Salon I made and appointment. I must admit, I was still worried but left with a smile on my face and my hair looked great. I'll even go back soon for color correction treatment and do so happily with out much anxiety. I highly recommend the salon, but still recommend to anyone that no matter where you go, be sure to talk to your hair dresser and don't be afraid to ask questions. Tell them what you want and if you don't know that then tell them what you don't want. You are the only one who knows what works for you and what you're looking for. You can do that here, the people here welcome your input and your questions and will work for your happiness! Not to mention, their prices are excellent they were half the price of what I used to pay for the same services. Highly recomended!!!

Kuddos to this place as the instructors have brought out the tiger in my daughter. I have to admit that the head instructor is a bit on the loud and aggressive side and by his demeanor (I mean yelling) you can tell he has a military background. All in all the children learn to adapt to his style of teaching.
This is a very hands on school, geared to teach the children (and adults) discipline, concentration, respect, and courtesy. This is also a fight school where many of the dragons spar on friday nights.
At this school the teachers care about their students and do not hand out belts to appease the parents, they make the kids earn em.. Which teaches them a better lesson in life.

When We bought our house we looked for one in the Mansfield school district as we had heard good things about it. We were right as both our kids have graduated from these schools. It used to be a small district but it has gotten so big they have not only added another high school but they have also added a third with a fourth on the way. What I really liked is they have their own police department that works strictly for the school district.
