This place cares only about money. All they ever want to do is run unnecessary tests, and they never perform all of the tests that are needed in one visit. Why? So you have to come back and pay for another office visit. I'm changing vets and will never take my dogs there again. There are also so many vets there that none of them really "know" my dogs. They charge an outrageous amount for heartworm medication.

I took my puppy to this clinic today because he was very sick. He had been throwing up, had diarrhea, and would not eat. When we got to the hospital they took him into the back immediately. When we saw the vet she said that he was doing better than he had been when we first brought him. She gave us hope! She wanted to run tests on him n they came out negative but she said that she was still going to treat it for parvo, even though it came out negative! She threw in another treatment as well "just in case". The nurse hurried into the room and made me signed the release form asap. And when we got our puppy he was practically DEAD, he was not breathing!!! I cannot get that image out of my head. He was in my arms motionless, after they had just told us he was doing better!!! We told the nurse n she took him to the back n the vet came back out and said that he wasnt going to make it. Not even five minutes later he was dead.... All this vet did was tried to get as much money as possible. Even though the puppy didnt make it we still had to pay close to $400. I wouldnt have mind the cost IF the puppy had made it. When she was telling us he died she even mentioned that when we had first brought him, that he was too far along to help him!! Why couldnt she say that at the beginning??? They just put my puppy through more suffering by doing all those tests. This people are heartless. I cant believe there are people like this, how can they live with themselves. I was horrified by their treatment. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY!!!!!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR PET THERE!!!!!

I recently had to bring Ace in to see Dr. Welch, he was having terrible diahrrea, his eyes were swollen and red and he looked like he was uncomfortable and he was itching. As it turns out he was having allergies. Dr. Welch was wonderfull to us, she even had the assistant call and check on him the next day, thats better than my doctors office. The receptionist even helped me out to the car with the food when we were done. THEY ARE GREAT!!!!

I work nights and get home around 3am. Of course the first thing I gotta do is take my dogs for a walk. We live by River Legacy Park so the dogs are always sniffing out dead critters. Yea nasty. Well, there was this little white thing they found and I thought it was a dead possum or rat. I walked up and saw it was about a 5 week old kitten. It looked dead and smelled dead. Then it made a sad little meow. I freaked, ran inside and grabbed a towel to wrap it in. I knew the poor little guy was suffering horribly but didn't know what to do. I called them and they let me bring the little guy up there to be put down and stop his suffering FOR FREE. My heart just broke for this little baby. They didn't have to do that. Everyone's in business to make money, but they did this out of kindness. THANK YOU to whoever was working on 08/29/08 at around 4am and sorry for getting so upset, but it just bothered me so much to see that. And if any of my guys need emergency care (God I hope that never happens) I would use you guys in a heartbeat!

We took our dog to I-20 They did an x-ray & found his leg had been broken . We were told he HAD to have surgery We'd have to go to a specialist and they referred us to 4 different ones in the Dallas area. We asked several times if there wasn't someone in Arl or FW area, & we were told NO only in the Dallas area. They put a splint on his leg & we paid $350. & left. The next day on Saturday we took our dog & the x-rays to our vet in Arl Our vet told us since his bones were so small surgery could not be done he said leaving the splint on for 4 weeks the bones would grow back together. He also told us he was able to perform the surgery had it been necessary that we didn't have to go to Dallas. The charge for the surgery would have been between $1000-$1500. Prior to going to our vet, I looked up the specialist info I-20 gave us & it wasn't 4 different referrals, it was one company that happened to have 4 locations. The following Monday evening the splint came off, not knowing if it would cause further damage to leave the splint off until the following morning when we could get to our vet, we went back to I-20. Do you know they charged us an add'l $45. to have a new splint put on.

As a representative of I-20 Animal Medical Center I hoped to respond individually to each concern. I see the good and the bad and am comforted knowing with hundreds of clients daily this number of less than happy customers represents a small percentage- which I find encouraging. We all care very much for our clients and patients. Emergency visits tend to run more costly than routine wellness exams. The after hours fee reflects the additional cost to operate overnight with a full staff ready for emergencies, while our day prices are comparable to other area practices. Tests being run is to diagnose correctly. Unfortunately emergencies usually have little explanation and require testing to decipher the situation quickly so that treatment can begin in a life and death situation. Our facility is equipped with sinks and anti-bacterial soap outside the rooms and our doctors prefer to wash prior to entering the exam room. We have a cleaning checklist and each room is cleaned between patients if this was less than perfect I am deeply sorry and assure you that we make every effort to ensure clinic wide cleanliness. As for rabies testing- our clinic doesn't make the call on this- we are required, as are other clinics, to report every bite to animal services and they handle it from there. It is unfortunate that in some cases the cost of saving a pet exceeds the owners comfort level. I-20 has some of the same advance medical equipment and an experienced staff so that we can offer the best possible medical care. The only time authorities would be called on clients is to ensure the safety of staff, clients, or pets and in the case of blatant theft of services. We hope to resolve any and all issues and attempt to do so. It is unfortunate that these are unidentifiable and therefore leave us unable to contact you. If you wish to discuss things further please call at your earliest con

We used to go to I-20 and see Dr. Duncan... we went tonight (4am) because we woke up to our dog running through the house yelping... went to see the Vet who was in surgery... and the girl at the front desk told us it would be a least an hour... I asked if they could give our dog something to relax her until it could see the vet... the girl told us not until the vet does an exam... ($125)... I know it is just a dog... but the girl at the front desk never talked to her, never tried to calm her down... never called her by name... nothing...my wife and I were discussing that we have never known them to be so non-caring... then my wife told me that rumor was I-20 had been involved in a law suit... so I googled I-20 Animal Clinic lawsuite... sure enough... they had one... I don't know where Dr. Duncan went... but she was the most caring vet we have ever know... we have always been willing to pay the high price... the office is beautiful... and the people that worked they use to be so caring and supportive.... not now... we will never go back!

I use the I-20 Clinic because they are close to home and are always open. They also have staff & doctors to treat other animals - they were great with my cat (who was not feeling well and DOES NOT like people) and gave great care to my rabbit, Coco, who unfortunately had to be put to sleep last week. Dr. Garza and the staff were very thorough and explained the details to me very clearly. They were very caring and considerate during this very difficult time for me. I will continue to use them for my cat, plus any other pets that I may get in the future. Also, their prices on Science Diet and Frontline are very comparable to other stores.

I have been to this clinic several times in the past for routine exams and their service always exceeded my expectations. When my dog needed emergency care in the middle of the night I knew exactly where to go. The vets and staff were amazing. My dog is doing great and had no problems since. Thanks to everybody for your help...

I took Jake to I20 for a unique problem. I thought my dog was losing it's colon. I rushed him over to have Dr. Duncan evaluate his condition. to my relief, Jake had swallowed a sewing needle and it was lodged in his lower intestine. she removed it and laughed because this wasn't the first one she had seen. I am grateful for the staff at I20 and particularly the great doctors.
