this is the best independent jewelry store around the philadelphia area. they feature the work of local and national artists, and the simple displays and friendly salespeople are really an asset to the place. i wish some of the work was less expensive, but in this case you really do get what you pay for - amazing, unusual necklaces, earrings, and bracelets in all sorts of metals with exquisite details. the buyer for this place has a fantastic eye for beauty.

if you're looking for a unique item of clothing, this is quite literally the place for you - frequently, the clothes they have are one of a kind to the point of not having different sizes to choose from. but if it fits, you know you will never run accross anyone else wearing anything even remotely similar. the same goes for their cool selection of shoes, jewelry, and other accessories, all of which have been chosen with the goal of uniqueness in mind. a great little resource for the daring and the fashion-forward.

Plastic Fantastic Record Exchange has an enormous selection of used CD's. They also have a vast amount of used vinyl. Every time that I have gone there I have left happy and smiling. I have found CD's that I couldn't find anywhere else and CD's that have been out of print forever. To be honest, I wouldn't go there unless you have some time to go through all of the titles. You may be there a long time. The prices are reasonable. And, yes, they do sell the latest releases too. Personally I am not to fond of the cat that resides there, but you can form your own opinion about that.
