They don't open stores like this one anymore. It's a little treasure tucked in on Route 30. Parking is not fun, but once you're inside, you won't care! They have a wide selection of toys and bikes and carry items you won't find in a chain store. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

When you walk into Mapes toys you get a feeling for what toy stores were like before R Us and KB! Cluttered shelves are piled high with classic toys. This is really a refreshing place to shop, they have a lot of great toys at reasonable prices and you don't get the feeling that Barbie and Spongebob dominate like at most toy stores.

On Lancaster Ave, you will find a great toy store. It may not have the selection or bells and whistles like many of the other bigger retail toy shops, but its policy is worth shopping there again and again. Unlike most toy stores, Mapes offers a full refund if an item purchased from their store breaks. I found this helpful when the trigger on an item i bought broke after one month. I went back to Mapes and they gave me the refund with no questions asked! So before you head over to the larger toy stores, try and make a trip to Mapes and see if you can't find it there first.
