My family and I just recently moved back to the area a few months ago. I tried dozens of salons to get my hair done.I disliked everything... then i ran into an old girlfriend of mine. Her hair was fabulous. I asked her where she went. She told me Nikki C at The Jay Michael salon. I had been skeptical, as everyone around here made my blonde hair way overly done, it actually always looked whitish and not natural. I then ran into a random woman, in a grocery store that had the most beautiful cut and this amazing red hair... Nikki C she replied. That was it for me. I needed a consultation, but was glad i went because she made me at ease. She was great. I returned the following week, and left with the most gorgeous, natural golden blonde hair, and a great new shorter haircut. Never have I been so satisfied!! You must go to Nikki C! Pros: everything Cons: had to wait in long line for shampoo

Hattiie, one of the colorists at Jay Michael, has been highlighting my hair for at least 20 years. She's so pleasant and does an excellent job. Prices aren't cheap, but are no more expensive than other salons in the same category and location, the Main Line of Philadelphia. My only complaint is that you usually can expect a 15-20 minute wait.

i have been going to Jay Michael, since they opened in the new location two years ago, I adore elle and nikki!!!! They are the best team to work on your hair. Nikki is always suggesting new and fun things to do with the color, and it always looks sooo perfect! Then your off to elle, who always has the newest haircut at hand, and will offer many suggestions to fit your lifestyle needs.[Every time i get cut it just falls into place, and is so easy to style!] And the color from nikki stays the way it should, from appointment to appointment! If you are in the main line or philly area, you must try my duo out!! I could not be any more satisfied.

We were very disappointed with our services at Jay Michael. My daughter and I both had appointments for formal hairdos and makeup. The makeup services were above our expectations. The hair was very disappointing. My daughter had to wait for her 'updo' so that her operator satisfied his usual clients. When he saw one of his regular clients, the operator rushed my daughter along with her 'updo' and hurried her out never even asking if she was satisfied. She was treated as though she was a 'bother' . I would never recommend this salon unless you want to be treated as an 'afterthought'. I had higher expectations since a good friend recommended this salon, especially for formal affairs. It was a Very disappointing experience.

I have been going to Jay's salon for 5 years now and received many of their services. I have never been disappointed and neither will you. Elle does all of my haircuts. She was event voted Best of Philly: Best Blowdry. Shes so fun and personable, we're always chatting up a storm. The receptionists are really friendly and always compliment me on my hair (BEFOREE I even get it done!) and clothing. They all know me by name and are so friendly. I can't say enough about this salon. I love it so much and would never even dare go anywhere else! Their tea is also sooo good! I almost forgot to mention! Their new location is simply beautiful!!!!! It feels like a movie! Stunning! Pros: Friendly staff, amazing results, great parking and shopping!!, amazing staff and service! BEAUTIFULLLL New Location Cons: absolutely none!

I would just like to tell anyone who will listen that nikki is the best colorist i have ever had work on my hair. She was very effecient in asking questions about myself that i would never thought would effect my color...like what colors do i enjoy wearing, studying the colors of my face, at first i have to say, i thought it was a little peculiar, but i just went along, as i heard she was the best. Well...my hair looked incredible, vibrant, and natural! And now I'm addicted, and a very expensive addiction might i add... but worth EVERY penny! And to top it all off, she gave me an fabulous blowdry that stayed in for days! Noone else will be touching my hair exept nikki!!!! Pros: Parking is awful Cons: staff and owner very nice
