Very good american mexican food. Jumbo burrito is now 6 bucks. Should be 4 to 5 or made bigger. Combo burrito is almost as much and small. Wouldn't mind paying the money if they made the food bigger. I need to spend 20.00 to get satisfied. If you call a burrito a jumbo it should be jumbo size. Awesome tasting drinkable hot sauce. I dont know why people keep comparing it to taco bell. It isn't even a close comparison. Taco bell is trucked in bagged dog food that is heated up and add some cheese sauce squirts and thick pasty fake shredded cheddar.
Pros: good fresh food
Cons: overpriced small portions

This is an old fashioned taco stand that you don't find in so CA anymore what a delight. There are mexican food places on every corner if you want authentic or just drive 2 hours if you are a purest. I love the seasnoning of their meat, the beans taste fresh not like mud like TB and they give generous portions.Their taco sauce is good just medium but favorful no need to burn your face off! The only down side is not much seating and there are lines because of their personlized service.I love a great big combo burrito with loads of sauce. You'd need to buy 2 at TB and still taste like mud compaired to Taco Lita. Thanks for the many years!

My brother, sister and I grew up on 10 tacos for $1 (on either Friday or Saturday night) at the Taco Lita in Pomona in the 1950s. Sorry to read that they are almost all gone.

I grew up eating Taco Lita. My parents graduated from Arcadia High, and raised me on the stuff. Always get tons of packets of sauce for Christmas. It's the only sauce I like. I have to come to Taco Lita when I visit from Colorado. Sometimes, comfort food from childhood can't be passed on to new-comers. Nay-sayers -- have an open mind!

My Father, Howard (Hank) Unrue invented and started Taco Lita in the 1950's! He had 14 franchises, now the only one left is in Arcadia. He passed away in 1969, and my Mother ran Taco Lita Inc. for a few years. He started in Pomona on 5th and White and also had one in Ontario, where we lived, on Holt and San Antonio Ave. He used to have a Lita Burger, which I haven't seen on the menu in Arcadia. Also, wonderful Mexican rice. Whenever we are up in LA, we try to stop by Arcadia and stock up on Burritos. Needless to say, Taco Lita is dear to our hearts. And no one has come close to the hot sauce!

This isn't the place to go if you're looking for an authentic taco stand, unless you're looking for an American Taco. The only meat you'll find here is seasoned ground beef. However, it's seasoned right and tastes good enough to keep this place packed every day at lunchtime and fairly busy during dinner hours as well. The ingredients seem fresh and taste a lot better than 'Taco Bell', as some other reviewers mentioned. The menu is pretty simple, tacos, combo burritos, all meat burritos, tostadas, and the famous Jumbo Burrito. Wednesdays you can get the special Combo Burrito, taco, and a drink for a fair price of around $6.50. This place has been around here a long time and has always been a local favorite. The hot sauce goes just perfect with the style of the food. It keeps lots of people going back year after year including me. Get there early for lunch unless you want to stand in a pretty long line.
Pros: American Tacos and Burritos done well. Great Hot Sauce. Decent value.
Cons: Can get crowded at lunchtime. Very little seating area.

Taco Lita has been the Best Mexican Fast Food Restaurant in the area for years. It's always packed with customers. I've been eating there since the 60's. Try their Jumbo Burrito, or the Beef and Cheese, both are filled with freshest delicious ingredients. Also, the Beans are not to be matched in flavor. YUMMY!And the packaged sauce is a legend. The Friday Taco special is a real deal. Run don't walk to Taco Lita.
PROS: Very Very Clean with Friendly Service
CONS: Needs more seating
