This place probably have the freshest sushi you can find in LA area. You have to sit at the Sushi bar to get the full retreat. I usually go there and request for a couple things that i like then ask them to make me whatever they want to. This is where they will get fancy and creative - which is the best tasting food you probably can't find anywhere else. Best time to go is around 8:00pm to 8:30pm which is when they are not as crowded and will give you the most attention. And most of the time, they will give us some free dishes.
Recommended dish:
-Japanese Burrito
-White Tuna
-Uni
-Tai
-Giant Scallop

If you are tired of bad chain Italian eateries, go here next time. The food is incredibly good. Start out with a glass of wine and complimentary crusty bread dipped in olive oil. Form here go on to a fresh salad or flavorful soup. What comes next is a world of tasty pizza and succulent pastas. My favorite is diced sausage and eggplant over a huge bowl of pasta. There is as much thick sauce as there is perfect pasta. It's so rich that (almost against your will to stop)you must take most home and eat it for the next 2 days. the baked lasagna is habit forming. The veal piccata is the best I've ever had. I've never had room for dessert.
Pros: All the food
Cons: I wish they had more comfortable chairs, but so what?

Todai is located in the Westfield Shopping Center in Arcadia, CA. It's a little pricey, but it's well worth it. They have a large variety of different foods including noodles, meats, sushi and desserts. The people who work here are very cultural and kind. Their dinning area is very large and clean. Their buffet has a great presentation. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They are a little high priced, but it's well worth it because it's a buffet and all you can eat. It's a casual restaurant that is perfect for families with children.

The tri-tip sandwich is very good, almost as good as they make in Santa Barbara area. And they have Guiness. High back booths so you won't be accosted by unruly children. Very friendly atmosphere and casual.

I been coming here since it opened. The seafood is consistantly good. They always have great specially prepared dishes. The only problem with that is you can only get the special prepared that way, for example I took some family there and they wanted one of the specials copper river salmon, but they wanted it grilled, they said they were pre-prepared so they couldnt do it. But they really enjoyed the salmon they did get, alderplank which was made on an alderplank wood bed picking up the smokey flavor. It was great! The sides were not all that great.
I am hopping they improve in some areas but it is nice to have an alternative to the snooty mcormicks and shmucks (yes I know its shmicks, but they treat you like you are a shmuck for being there)
Pros: Great seafood
Cons: tomato appetizer is not all that great

I have been here a hand full of times and everytime I go, I wonder why I don't go more often...We always order the lasanga, eggplant, and meatballs but end up eating our guests food too. We always order a pizza whether we have room or not because it is the best pizza around. Wish they delivered!!! Owners always walk around talking to guests, it kind of reminds me of the little Italian eateries in NY. When you drive by you dont know you are in for the best food. But you are. Only problem parking is very limited..

This title means a LOT because I eat Thai quite a bit. I love it and I try to eat it out wherever I am traveling. So I have had many great thai meals, and it means a lot for me to say that this is the best I have ever had. But it is just true! We had the following meals: Appetizer: Thai Toast. This was SO amazing! Wow, for this dish alone I wished I lived in Arcadia! Appetizer: sa-tay: The chicken portions were fine, the taste excellent, and the peanut sauce was amazing. Rices: Thai Fried Rice and the one under it on the menu (sorry I forgot the name). It had pineapples in it. BOTH of these rice dishes were the best I have ever had. Again, this is saying a lot!! lol I swear I might travel to this town again just to eat at this restaurant and the Indian Restaurant across the streed called Nirvana. Between the two restaurants, we ate at them 5 times in three days!! Excellent and both family run.
Pros: excellent food, excellent service
Cons: none

There's something deliciously deceiving about dim sum. It doesn't seem like much, but it fills you up. I've only been here for lunch but this place is packed all day long. The carts pass by and it's a race for you attention. Be patient for all the different carts to come by and decisive whether or not you want a dish. There are a lot of choices and it's difficult to say no to things. Sometimes if the waiters see that someone is iffy about a dish they'll assume the whole table wants it and next thing you know, another dish is on the table. Speaking cantonese would be a definite bonus here because it's much easier to communicate, but it's not really necessary because you can see all the dishes for yourself.
