I must say i like Carmines,but it was a MUCH,MUCH better ran restaurant when the manager was the little blond girl with the most welcoming smile was there.Today it seems to be ran so chaotic, you should really look into getting some management who know what they are doing.(bring the blond girl back,we miss her) Other then that Carmines food is good. We have been going to Carmines in Arcadia for about 20 years, maybe more. It was our favorite Italian place. In the last several years there has been a change and now we don't go anymore. I think the food is still good, but the servers rush you through now. There is no time to linger. You are not even finished with your pile of pasta and they are at your table asking you if you want to take it home. It seems they are trying to go upscale and have lost the intimate family and romantic date night feeling. Someone should tell them they are not in Old Town Pasadena, just on Live Oak in Arcadia.

Form here go on to a fresh salad or flavorful soup. What comes next is a world of tasty pizza and succulent pastas. My favorite is diced sausage and eggplant over a huge bowl of pasta. There is as much thick sauce as there is perfect pasta. It's so rich that (almost against your will to stop)you must take most home and eat it for the next 2 days. the baked lasagna is habit forming. The veal piccata is the best I've ever had. I've never had room for dessert. Pros: All the food Cons: I wish they had more comfortable chairs, but so what?

This is a very nice, home-style italian restaurant located on the southern side of Arcadia. The environment and service is great! The servers and the restaurant itself make you feel right at home. However, I was less impressed with the food. I ordered the eggplant (usually a big fan of egglant), but it was quite dry and not very tasty at all. However, my date ordered the chicken alfredo and it was quite good! Overall, pretty good place to stop in and grab a nice little italian dinner.

I love going to Carmines (Arcadia or Pasadena). They've got a great value for the quantity and quality of food you get. It's a great place to go if you have a large group. I went once with a group of 20 -- no reservations, but they pulled it off in 5 minutes. I recommend their calzone (simply a double sided pizza, not a true calzone) and lunch specials (great hot and cold sandwiches). Pros: Great Value, Awesome for groups, Clean!
