What a beautiful building and interior - now if it only had the food and service to make it a great dining experience. Their beer selection has improved since they opening, actually having some English/Irish Ales and stouts (they started with one). But the food is definitely NOT English fare and in fact the quality is medium to poor. The English do not know what waffle fries are, and it doesn't take a dining snob to recognize that preping them with season salt clashes with fish. "Chips" is short for chipped potatos so American French Fries would be the next closest thing - kindly offer this as an alternative, make them thick and you're golden!
Shepherd's pie does not have giant pearl onions - minced if anything - so again authenticity is simply not to be found here - it rivals other burger joints, but it is still a far cry from an English pub.
