I worked with Boersma for work, and they seemed pretty friendly. however, the agent i spoke with (there are only 2 agents there, i believe) didn't always call me back when she said she would. in the end, our business spent a lot more money than we should have in order to book flights for visitors. the agent gave us okay prices, but it was very inconvinient for us because they gave mostly paper tickets to our visitors, and it was a pain when some of the flights or boarding times changed. i'm sure they're capable of handling smaller groups of travelers, but when faced with 10 travelers from all over the world, they seemed to feel overwhelmed. i would personally never go there.

More
For international destinations, students can save some money and purchase less restricted tickets by using STA Travel's services and purchasing an International Student Identity Card (ISIC). If you visit the store in person you are likely to receive great service and find exactly what you need. They are very pushy about selling the $22 ISICs and will not let you purchase anything from them without holding a valid ISIC, so be forewarned. The toll-free number listed on their website (sta.com) is less reliable, hold times hover between 5-10 minutes and etickets and paper tickets are frequently mismatched to the correct flight, particularly on Air France, which does not accept etickets on all their flights. If one has the misfortune of obtaining a paper ticket (and not an eticket), much of the advantages of STA's services (like the small $25 date change fee) are lost.

This is a rental place that specifies in van rentals, they have 12 and 16 passenger vans. They have a base price and a maximum limit of miles. The van I got was extremely clean, and the man was really nice that I picked it up from. Be careful when returning the van/vehicle - no one was there when we dropped it off and they charged us an extra 3 hrs. of rental time, but they took it off the credit card after we called. Great for parties.

Ann Arbor Transportation Authority provides the best public transportation in local areas. You can take a free ride if you have a UM ID. They don't run very frequently, so check the schedules before you go take a ride. The Black Transit Center is right in downtown, which is very convenient for transfer.

More
While my sister was at the hospital in Ann Arbor, we stayed at the Fairfield Inn. We have a relative who works for Marriot, so we were able to get the associate rate. This requires that I bring an "authorization letter" in, showing I am actually related.
We had two rooms, and I decided to just get my key when I checked in, so my parents didn't have to search for me to get the other set of keys. I handed my letter to the employee and she checked me in with no problems. She was quite friendly, but I did not notice that with my keys (actually those credit card things) she handed the authorization letter back as well.
However, when my parents came to check in, about 30 minutes later, they received a different reception. There was a different employee at the desk at this point. He gave them a hard time, because they did not have the letter that I had already showed to the previous employee. My Dad then asked me for the letter, and I told him that I had already given it to them (I didn't realize at that point that she had given it back.) The second employee was very rude to us, and began demanding that we produce the letter. I explained to him that I had already checked in with the letter, and that they should have it. The first employee was standing there, so I asked if she remembered checking up in. She said she did, but that she didn't remember a letter. Obviously, she hadn't been paying attention when I handed it to her. The second employee then began insisting that the letter had to be on yellow paper. I had told him that ours was faxed to us, so it was on plain paper. However, when he started looking through the authorization letters that they had, there were several that were on plain paper. Finally, the first employee stepped in and told us that as long as we had the letter before we checked out, it would be ok. I told her that perhaps she had given the letter back to me when I checked in, and would look in my room.
Obviously, I did find it in my room, and then gave it to them. I don't blame the hotel for needing the letter, but it was their attitude that was upsetting. When I first checked in, I took a cart to get my luggage out of the car. I had my 14 year old son push it for me. The second employee glared at us as we pushed it out, and glared while we pushed it back in. (This was even before the above mentioned letter incident).
The rooms were filled with bugs, and my children and niece had many bug bites on them by the time we left. The whirlpool tub was closed every day for "cleaning". This hotel offers a free breakfast until 10:30, but by 10AM, most of the items were packed up and put away.
