Ann Arbor has a great childrens museum right downtown. There are a few floors of entertainment and delight just waiting to be discovered. They also have a great toddler area for the little ones that makes them feel like they have a place to call their own. My 5 year olds favorite spot is on one of the upper floors. They have a piana on the floor that the kids tap their feet on (a la BIG). Also the big bubble thing is a huge hit with kids! If you have a chance to visit this place, please do! You won't be disappointed!

Ann Arbor Hands On Museum is one of the best museums in the country. It is absoluetly fabulous for class field trips. Their is a ton of things for the children to do. The parents are also kept very interested. To top it off, the staff is very helpful in planning the trip. The cost is reasonable. I love this museum!

If you make it out to Ann Arbor for the day, definitely consider a visit to the Hands-on Museum. Kids and adults alike can lose practically a whole day in that place- it is too much fun. It is centrally located to downtown and campus, so no matter the reason for your visit (food, football, shopping or visiting a student), you can get there easily by foot. And since parking in Ann Arbor is notoriously bad, I recommend that mode of transportation.

We recently took my two year old daughter to the Hands On Museum and the adults had more fun than the child! The admission price is reasonable since you will probably be spending at least half a day here. You also get a discount if you are a student. There is so much to see and do here and the museum has four different levels. My only negative comment is that they charge for children 2 and up and I think that the activities are more appropriate for an older child. It would be more appropriate to charge for children 4 and up.

The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is an absolutely wonderful museum. It always has a large number of educational exhibits that are both interesting and fun for people of all ages. You can go to this museum for a great day-trip, and it is also very popular with children that go there on class field trips. I have been going to this museum for many years. And will continue to do so as my children grow.

The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is a great way to teach your kids about science while they are having fun. The tot room has a large wooden play kitchen, large play area with soft-sided objects and best of all, a water table complete with rubber smocks and toys. Definitely check out the ambulance- most kids seem to love this! There are several spots to check out your fitness levels. Be sure to visit each floor filled with fun things for the kids. My only complaint is the parking, which is terrible, especially considering that you will have kids (possibly young ones in strollers) with you. But Ann Arbor is notorious for its rotten parking situation so I suppose it can't be helped.

I visited the Hands on Museum several times as a kid, and can't wait until my daughter is old enough that I can share the experience with her as well. The admission is reasonably priced, and the fun never ends. A great spot to go on a rainy day, or a hot day in the summer. It is also a great place to take a field trip. The only downside is that it is located downtown, so traffic and parking can be a pain, but the end result is worth it.

It is amazing to me that Ann Arbor, a mostly college town, has a very nice childrens' discovery museum tucked in downtown. It is housed in a very old Fire Station which lends to it's uniqueness. The displays inside amaze my children, and they've just added a new area on the ground floor describing how homes are built/put together. There are three full floors of activities and experiments, but by-and-far, the bubble experiments are the most popular. There is also a baby/toddler play area on the ground floor that that little kids can play and use their imaginations with (including a large water table). Due to its location, you must pay for parking, either on the streets or in the nearby garages. Also, if you plan to go frequently, it is definitely worth getting an annual pass. This museum is definitely a positive mark here in Ann Arbor. PROS: Varied Experiments, Lots of Rooms, Clean and Well-Maintained CONS: Paid Parking, Very Busy in the Morning/Noon hours
