Zingermans is a true Ann Arbor gem. It is a bit on the pricey side but well worth it! They have great sandwiches with wonderful cheeses and bread. I highly recommend zingermans

When we moved to Ann Arbor from New York all we heard about was Zingermans, Zingermans, Zingermans. We went. The bread was great and the food is good but it's unapologetically expensive and shouldn't be. There is no excuse for the prices they charge, they rival Stage Deli in Manhattan! It's not somewhere I would ever go again for that reason. Pros: Good Cons: Far too expensive

Tried several cake flavors at a wedding show. They were dry and had no flavor. The show had many other bakeries and all were superior. I was looking for a wedding cake and found a bakery at the show. Zingerman's specializes in the topsy turvey look which is cute but as my husband puts it..."like a hairdo from the 80's, it's cool at the time but you look back and think, what was I thinking?" Good fondant techniques but the cake itself was not good. Very high priced! More than double what we paid per serving and we went with a well known, high end bakery. Pros: Great fondant techniques Cons: Too expensive. Cakes are dry. Too much commotion in the store and on their website.

I ordered the Geogia Reuben and asked for a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda without even thinking that Dr. Brown's had no distribution outside of NYC. Of course they had it. It's been love ever since. This is a famous deli in Ann Arbor, that is known for its fresh bread, and wonderful, large sandwiches. Not only do they have sandwiches, but the deli has expanded to lots of items that you can purchase. Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches are very good, but the price is quite expensive. To me, its a special treat every once in a while, but not a place that I could afford on a weekly basis for sandwiches.

I've always had good luck finding special things for either cooking with or serving plain out. Like any other store that caters to a certain set of taste buds, its a little high-end, but the baked goods are fresh (sometimes still warm), the olive oils, vinegars, cheeses, meats, and other specialty pantry items are of the highest quality, and the staff is extremely knowledgable. They also have EXCELLENT mail order service. In the past two months, I've purchased the Bread Club and the Brownie Basket for my parents, and delivery and quality of product was NO PROBLEM!

The bread is made fresh and it is really delicious, they grill the bread with butter and fill the sandwhiches up with plenty of meat and condiments. There is a huge selection of sandwhiches. These sandwhiches are delicious, however a bit on the pricey side. Each sandwhich that we bought cost $12, and it can only feed on person. The service there is chaotic, maybe because the lines there wrap around and out the store. If you are in the neighborhood, I do recommend trying their sandwhich. Sure $12 is an expensive sandwich, but its good once in a while. Pros: sandwich, selection, meat Cons: Price, Long Lines

Like, the Roadhouse, the Deli is over priced, but fortunately the sandwiches are really good, just not 13 dollars good. I got a roast beef sandwich and potato salad and the price was 16.50. Now for 16.50 I expected it to be the best sandwich and potato salad ever. The sandwich was great! But 13 dollars was too much. I could get a steak for that much. The potato salad was just average.
