So most people have been to Walgreen's, its your neighborhood drugstore that also has lots of extra goodies like fun summer stuff, some small houseware items and even some groceries and milk. They have great sales and if you cut out the coupons in their paper the prices are even better. Its in a busy shopping center, so sometimes parking can be an issue.

I visited this pharmacy recently when my doctor suggested going here instead of to a chain pharmacy. This place is locally owned and operated. They didn't have me in their system so it did take awhile to fill my prescription after I showed up, but they were friendly and I was able to watch them interact with other customer's while I waited. They seemed to have a good relationship with many of these people -- seeming to know them. The shelves look a little bit sparse -- my husband actually went in here years ago and thought it was going out of business so I was surprised when my doctor recommended it this year. But despite that, they seem to be doing well and provide good service.

It's the dentist school. If you expect quick work on your teeth, stay away. They don't work in summer. You wait a long time for an appointment. It takes 2~3 appointments for just a simple routine tooth cleaning because students need their professor to verify each step. You never know which student will serve you and if he/she is good or not.

My son had to attend speech therapy classes here at the hospital post surgery.
He really enjoyed his therapist. She was friendly and caring. Took her time to try and help his tongue work the right way.
She was very nice but also professional. I am happy that she was assigned to us.
He starts school in a couple of weeks and his speech has improved greatly

University Health Service, is the health service for students on campus. While it's convenient for students far from home. However, it takes a long time to wait if you want to walk in. Even you call to make an appoiment, it still takes days for the appointment. The doctor is fine. You can be taken good care of.

More
I'd like to start out by saying that I'm sure this hospital has done wonderful things for many people (my cousin being one of them). But, I don't feel they did anything helpful for me and I was miserable every minute of my stay.
The first thing I noticed about this hospital is how dirty it was. The floors in my room were filthy when I arrived, especially in the bathroom. The walls were also very dirty and everything looked old. The outer shell of the phone was so broken up, I was afraid I would be electrocuted or cut by the the sharp plastic.
Now, let's talk about the food. I was there for 4 days and never once got an edible meal. Everything looked like congealed fat, even the "desserts".
The nurses were very nice, when they came to the room, that is. They were assigned 4 patients each (I asked). I was in a great deal of pain (I equate the pain with labor, it was so severe), so I needed pain meds on a regular basis. It always took a very long time to get my medication. In one instance, it took 4 hours after I first asked before I got some pain medication. The nurse would come in, I'd ask for the meds, she'd say she'd be right back with them, and I wouldn't see her until I called her again. This process just kept repeating itself. It was very frustrating and it brought me to tears on several occasions. Patient comfort is very low on the list at U of M. When patients are transported to x-rays or other tests, they are pushed in a wheelchair. This doesn't sound bad, but I saw so many people in so much pain they were doubled over in the wheelchairs. They should have been transported on a gurney. Several times, I was taken to have testing done and I was left in the hallway for an hour afterward, waiting for someone to take me back to my room. It was a very helpless feeling.
The team of specialists and doctors that worked on my case never seemed to confer with each other. At one point, my hematologist said I was ready to go home, while my primary doctor had scheduled me for surgery the next day. As a result I was left in a constant state of confusion and frustration. I had an MRI done and it took 2 days for someone to actually look at it and give us the results!
I truly hope I never have to return to this awful place. In fact, I won't return here as I'd rather drive a few extra hours and try the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Tonks is an excellent dentist. He is friendly and very gentle, always checking to make sure that he isn't hurting. He has done wonderful work on my teeth and I've never had a problem getting an appointment when I've had an emergency. His office staff is friendly and cheerful, and they play great music. I should also mention here that Dr. Tonks is bilingual (Spanish/English) as are many members of the staff.

Stadium pharmacy is located at 1930 West Stadium, right next to a party store. This pharmacy is family run, and the owner is extraordinarily nice and helpful.
It is a shame that the Ann Arbor Observer reported it as closed because it is a nice addition to the neighborhood.
Unlike local chain pharmacies, the pharmacist remembers your name and fills your prescriptions in a few minutes, not requiring long trips to the magazine section to wait.
