I went to Zingerman's today...and I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting it to be so so...but it was awesome! I agree they are very expensive...I had the 24/7 burger and it was like $14, but to me it was worth it. It was one of the best burgers I have had in a while. I guess one of the reasons why this restaurant is expensive is because they use organic, local, and free range products. They also had a lot of drinks. The service was also great. They even served fried donut hole samples. I must say that I was very impress and plan to go back in the future. I hope the food and service will be good the next time we eat there.
Pros: Oh so tasty burger, great service
Cons: didnt like the fries so much

Zingerman's is, of course, a world-renowned gourmet deli. But what about when there's a line out the door snaking aorund the block? You can beat the crowds for a more limited but still outstanding selection of cafe eats here, including delicious railroad paninis, bagels, espresso drinks and buttery cupcakes and blondies that will take years off your life, gladly. All this and an outstanding selection of coffee and tea. A quicker way to get your Zingerman's fix.

I have met many a New Yorker that states Zingerman's rivals any deli in Manhattan.
By using gourmet ingredients (and a lot of organic/free-range, as well), the sandwiches and baked goods are unparrelled. While a bit pricey, the sandwiches are HUGE. Easily share-able for two people with normal appetites.

In preparation for my recent wedding I must have tasted dozens of cakes from dozens of different bakeries. The one that I will never ever forget is Zingermans. I was fortunate enough to taste several different types of their cakes at a wedding show and I couldn't help but go back for more again and again. The best flavor I tried was the almond pound cake (doesn't sound good but it was INCREDIBLE). Zingerman's cake was heads and tails above any other cake flavor wise and aesthetically. Did we end up getting one? No. The downside is price. We were on a tight budget. However, if you've got the money, look no further than here for your beautiful and amazingly good wedding cake.

I've eaten at Yotsuba a few times a month since it's inception and only had a so-so meal on two occasions.
The use real crab in their california rolls, and everything is very fresh (not like on the coast - but this is Michigan so it's darn good for the region). Some of my favorites at Yotsuba are the Mackrel Boxed sushi, Wakame Salad, Nikutitake' Beef, Golden Scallop appetizer, and their selection of Ramen/Udon soups. Their Gyoza aren't any good - but all the other appetizers I've tried are delicious. Their desserts are quite pretty and small enough to not overwhelm/be wasteful. The service can be slow when they are busy - but I figure this is a good thing as no rolls have been pre-made/sitting in a cooler all day.
Pros: Great food, helpful staff
Cons: Can be slow on weekends/when busy
