I love this zoo! The trails are actual trails, so those with strollers or wheelchairs may have to be careful. The zoo looks like it fits with its surroundings, instead of a large concrete maze. They frequently have animals out for "show and tell".

I went to this zoo in 2004 on my road trip to Alaska. I thought it would be a lot bigger or with a lot more animals. The trails were all natural which was nice and the whole zoo was pretty natural in its self. I have seen most of all the animals they had in different zoos but there were actually a few like the musk ox i have not seen before. Nice little gift shop/coffee shop and if you just want to shop you don't have to pay for admission. Over all it was a good experience if you don't have anything else to do and just love zoos like I do.

I went to this zoo in 2004 on my road trip to Alaska. I thought it would be a lot bigger or with a lot more animals. The trails were all natural which was nice and the whole zoo was pretty natural in its self. Overall for the most part this zoo only has Alaskan animals there are a few that you cant just open your back door and see (ie elephant tigers polar bears musk ox) The trails are kind of rough but its a zoo in AK so theres not much better they can do. They also have a small petting zoo for little kids with goats
