They are a little overpriced but for the most part its because of the price they receive things thanks to being in Alaska. They have things for every topic and subject

Black elk has been one of my favorite stores for buying beads and other jewelry making things. They have the best selection of beads Ive ever seen. They also have tons of leather and other things. The products they sell are pretty cheap in price but still a good quality. The staff is great and can help you find anything you need for projects and even offer some great ideas

I love Title Wave Books. A HUGE selection of mostly used books. There's definitely something for everyone here! They also have a lot of little trinkets and things for sale that I love to look at everytime I'm there. There are events here all the time including book signings and book clubs and poetry readings. I've never traded in any of my old books, but I know that a lot of people do and I've never heard of any problems. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. I just can't say enough good things about this place!

Boyer Photography is probably mostly known for their senior pictures but they also do family pictures pet pictures pretty much anything you want. THey take great pictures and have pretty reasonable rates compared to other professional photography places in Anchorage. The staff is great and makes you feel comfortable right away so your picture taking is a good experiance for everyone

Yes- it's expensive, but gorgeous!!! This store has the most amazing handcrafted sweaters and booties and just about anything your heart could desire. Most items are handmade and the most wonderful gifts for loved ones. We purchased an Irish handmade cardigan and little matching booties for our daughter when she was born and the quality is amazing. These are items that will be handed down for generations. They are that wonderful!

So, if you want clothing that is natural, beautiful and warm you want Ole Jacks. Don't ask for any discounts here. You will be lucky if you can get the best at any price and this is the best in the world!
This man has dressed US Presidents and Russian leaders with his coats and warm furs. Don't miss a chance to talk with him if you can. His works are masterful. His life is amazing.
Ole Jacks Fur Alaska is the real, genuine article and likely a part of Alaskan history and culture you will want to pass on for generations in your family, and beyond!
Pros: Ole Jacks is a Native of Alaska -- I believe he is Inuit. He learned his craft from father and family.

This unassuming store (except for the huge grizzly bear out front is deceptively huge! I had never been here until we had visitors from the lower 48 and I was amazed. You would never imagine so much stuff had been made bearing the ALASKA name. They have a huge assortment of jewelry, postcards, shot glasses, real glasses, blankets, clothing toys and more. Some really unique gifts and treasures. Pretty much anything you need or could ever use is in this shop and it has ALASKA emblazed on it somewhere. If you are feeling adventerous you can even buy the big stuffed grizzly inside, I believe it was in the $50,000 range, other than that extravagance, the souveniers are very reasonable priced and really cute, even for us old sourdoughs!

This shop has an amazingly large selection of leatherwear. I found my motorcycle gear here on the sale rack for 1/3rd the original price and the quality is very high. The staff was really helpful and patient making sure I got what fit well as even on sale that is a lot of money and something I knew I would have for a long time.

Shopping is my business and believe me this is a great store! The latest in fashion and you won't have to worry about showing up at a party and seeing someone else wearing the same outfit! Fabulous selection of clothing and everything is top quality. Every time I wear something purchased at Signatures I get tons of compliments!
