It seems that nearly every tire service in Alaska has a distinct lack of respect for customer's property. While the prices and customer service were decent, the general malaise and poor workmanship in the shop led to scuffed wheels and obvious crowbar marks on my wheels. Sure, to most people, wheels are just what the tires go on - but when you have a nice new vehicle, limited edition with a very unique set of wheels - deeply scratching the paint on the rims DOES matter. The manager was courteous but tried to disguise the marks on my rims as "old" or "probably from a rock" - all of which was BS. I decided not to make a scene, referring instead on an old adage of "choosing your battles". The search continues for a tire/wheel shop that gives a s***. Pros: Good prices Cons: Slow, careless and shoddy workmanship

I have been going throught this place for years. It started off i bought a truck from some dealer years ago... I brang it to them to change the tires. Come to find out the dealer had the wrong tire on my truck..They had car tires on it instead of truck tires. This truck is a heavy duty k-2500 ..If i would had of looked myself i would of noticed this. I hadnt had much money left to buy new tires for it because i spent a hefty chunk of money in cash in this truck... Matt was kind enough to buy my crappy tires and give me a good deal on new ones. Ever since then ive brang in 5 different vehicles through the years for tire change overs. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM besides the typical Alaskan problem when it first snows its hard to make an appointment that day. I also dont like you cannot make an appointment in a day in advance. That you have to call early in the morning and hope you are caller number #1. But besides that our family and extended family has never had a problem. DO NOT BUY TIRES FROM ALASKA TIRE SERVICE this has to be one of the worst tire shops in anchorage. Terrible Terrible service. First, wrong type of tire, i asked for all season got studs. Wasn't a problem, i ignored it, went on my way. Then found the balance was off on the tires. had to go back a second time. Still not a problem. THEN the weight was off on every single tire. had to go back a third time. THEN the rear tires were in horrible condition with no studs left on them anyway, and a different size than what i asked for. So i had to deal with the rude people at the counter to get me no where they basically said oops, what do you want us to do about it? well i'd like you to realize you guys are running a terrible business here and really need to be more careful with what you do. Do your job. Do a good job. And we'll all be on our way. Never going back again. I'd recommend to stay far far away from this place, unless you love wasting time with a company that dont know what 'customer service' means. An apology would have been nice
