My wife, grandkids and I stayed at the Grand Californian Resort and Spa when we visited Disneyland. We were especially glad that there was tram that could transport us directly to the park, without walking, as I do have certain limitations.
Unfortunately, I feel completely misrepresented to because when I spoke with the hotel reservationist, I was not told that the tram is several blocks away from the hotel already. I even discussed to her that it was good to have the tram handy to jump into at the lobby, as I remember this is how it was at Disneyland Hotel in my younger days, but sadly she never mentioned it was far away.
The hotel was also incredibly chaotic during the check-in process and the room we were given were clear around the complex, because we wanted a view of the park, which meant even more walking. It took at least 45 minutes to walk from the hotel lobby to our room. It was ridiculous!

We have stayed at nearly every hotel in the Disneyland area and this was always on our dream list. Finally, we pulled it off and made our reservations. First arrival was very impressive as we were met at the gate and checked in quite easily. The Bell Captain was quick to help with bags and our stay was under way. Our room was nothing more than your average hotel room. The decor was fabulous throughout but this room left much to be desired. Wait, no wireless internet? The bathrobes were nice though. This hotel seemed better if you were not in your room. The pools/spa were awesome. The restaurants/lounge were great. The location is unbeatable until you look at your price tag. As much as we love Disney and as much as we go, this will be our last stay at this WAY overpriced hotel.
Pros: Good Parking, Great Service, Location
Cons: very expensive, average rooms

this hotel is definately one of the nicest ones that I have been to. It leads directly into Disney's California Adventure Theme park so you can basically walk in and out of the park and hotel whenever you darn well please. One downer of this hotel though is that it is very very expensive, but if you're traveling from away, it just might be worth it.

We stayed in the Disney Hotel and the rooms were big and comfortable. The items that they gave you in the bathrooms were wonderful souvenirs of Disney stuff on everything. The kids were so excited. Be sure to get up early and eat with the Disney characters. Your kids will talk about this for the longest time and they'll remember it forever. Being able to go back and forth on the trams was wonderful, no need to park or stand in long lines outside the park with the general public.
PROS: Nice, big, comfy, convenient. Wonderful!!
CONS: Really expensive.

Napa Rose's Lounge is nice but if you want something more quiet and romantic visit the other Disneyland Resort wine room at the Disneyland Hotel called the Wine Cellar below Hook's Pointe restaurant. There are only 6 tables so it you are often the only people in the room. There is complimentary cheeses to accompany your glass or bottle of wine. They also have appetizers and desserts.
A romantic place for a first date or meeting friends in an intimate setting.

I live in Seattle and have visited Disneyland numerous times, but this was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at! It had amazing service; they were more then willing to make you feel at home! They had a great restaurant that the whole family would enjoy which we dined at many times throughout our stay. It was also great to be able to enter the park and be able to come in and out as you pleased. There pools were stunning and there pool side service was just as amazing as the pools themselves! It was a little bit expensive, but Im a firm believer in what you pay for is what you get!
Pros: Amazing Service, Easy Park Access, Stunning Pools
Cons: Expensive

while Disney is amusing for both adults and kids, this new park is really different and I guess is ok if you have kids and a lot of money to spend in one day. Personally I found the attractions were nothing really out of ordinary except the ' a life's bug' with the show in the teather built to remind you of a underground tunenl. The effects there were incrediuble and very real.
