Judie's is located on the main drag in downtown Amherst, MA near the UMass campus. You can't make reservations, so get there early or late because the lines can get long! The menu is very eclectic, there are vegetarian meals and regular pasta dishes and everything in between. The food is very high quality and the prices are very reasonable, it would cost much more if located closer to Boston. Try if you can to save room for dessert, there are so many concoctions to choose from. Judie is usually there which definitely keeps the food on top.

anyone who has been to amherst, lived in amherst, or has heard of amherst - has known Antonio's pizza. a small little shop located on north pleasant street in amherst center is the most well known pizza joint. plus, the pizza is GREAT. there is a ton of different kinds, all fresh, and you can buy it buy the slice! for less than 3 bucks or so! they have spicy chicken, buffalo chicken, pesto pizza, and the original cheese pizza. all packed with great toppings and cheese, it is well worth it. at about 1am, after the bars close, antonio's is packed with a line out the door. but the line moves fast and it will satisfy anyone's craving!

If you are gonna eat in Amherst, go to Antonios. They have the best pizza that I have ever had.(and I have had a lot of pizza in my life) The place can be crowded especially at night 8 PM- Closing but the lines are so worth it. They have a bunch of creative kinds of pizza and trust me they are good. They don't normally have much space in the resturant so, buy a slice and love it

The hardest part about the Black Sheep Deli and Bakery is deciding what to get. There is an excellent variety of soups and sandwiches and other yummy meal options, many of which are vegan friendly. They bakery cases is extremely tempting as it sits near the register. I suggest indulging...it's worth it!

I love chinese food, and I had visited amherst recently on a trip. We ate at Panda East and the food was pretty good, but it wasn't STELLAR. Prices were decent, and they provide both chinese and japanese appetizers, meals, and desserts. The waiters weren't all that friendly, but like every other chiense restaurant, gave you fortune cookies in the end.

It's a tiny place with never enough seating. One meal here and you will understand why. You pick your pasta and sauce from huge boards that are updated daily with fresh specials and new additions. They make every dish to order, so the pasta is cooked to your specifications. The portions are huge, and the prices are not. It will please both students and parents alike.

It's amazing how much this place has grown over the years. They sell fresh fruits and vegetables. They also have made to order stir-fry and a great salad bar. You can’t leave without trying one of their apple cider donuts. They have great gift ideas as well. You can even go pick your own apples.

Bart’s ice cream is a highly addictive substance. They have your basic flavors as well as some of the best original creations. My personal favorite is Pillow Talk which is coffee ice cream chock full of chocolate covered espresso beans. Their pumpkin ice cream would happily replace pie at my thanksgiving table. The texture is phenomenal and the quantity of flavors in the daily selections is dizzying. You can also grab soup, sandwiches, cakes, pies and coffee here.

Pasta E Basta is soooo good. I love the setting and it has really good, fast takeout, too. They have excellent lobster ravioli and mixed veggies.
Pros: Good food, service, and it's really nice inside
Cons: None that I can think of
