I went to this spa recently for a pedicure. The pedicure itself was great--lots of attention was paid to sanitation, wonderful foot/leg massage, great job on polish. Unfortunately, the pedicure was constantly interrupted with long explanations of the products she was using. Each item from the sugar scrub to the lotion was given its own sales pitch. I've had many pedicures before (even at this same spa!) and I have NEVER had this experience. It was distracting and prevented me from fully relaxing.
When the pedicure was over and I was waiting for the polish to dry, I thought for sure that the sales pitches were over. But, no! She came back in the room with a basket full of the products she used and went through another spiel describing all the products to me. I tried my best to be polite, but made it clear that I wasn't interested. She then informed me that she'd leave the basket of products up at the front desk so they'd be there when I check out. I politely informed her again that I don't think I'll be needing any products.
I wouldn't go here again for a pedicure. Although the nail tech did a great job, I just can't handle paying $55 (+tip) for a service only to be bombarded with sales pitches during what should be a relaxing experience. I hope that they read this and reconsider their sales strategy, as I believe I'm not the only customer who would be turned off by it.
Let your products speak for themselves! If I love the pedicure and thought the scrub or lotion or whatever was amazing, I am more than capable of walking over to the shelf and buying it.
Pros: good pedicure, nice atmosphere, friendly staff
Cons: too focused on selling products

I just had my 2nd deep tissue massage by Karen. She really worked out the tightness around my shoulder blades and neck. She also did a great job on my hamstrings. I would definitely recommend Karen, especially to athletes. I haven't had any other services at Mind & Body to comment on. If you join the email list, they sometimes send out specials that make the massages more affordable.
Pros: Karen - massage therapist
Cons: small spa

Conclusion: I will never step foot in this spa and I will never recommend anyone to step foot into this spa.
I somewhat call myself a spa "Connoisseur"(i've been going to spas for 8+years and more than 1 time a month). I know that at the end of a service, if you leave smiling and feeling refreshed you sure as hell got your $$'s worth. So when you spend $200 for an hour of service, you better F@#$ believe that I want a total experience.
Unfortunately, my experience at Mind and Body Day Spa in Alpharetta was a whirlwind of disaster. I paid for a $200 package that included a facial, a peel and a hand massage. The promotion even said that you would get a complimentary foot massage. The esthetician forgot to give me my hand massage ($35 dollars worth) and when she was doign the hydromicro facial--she did not put the setting on the right number and bruised my skin! She tried to cover it up by applying lotion to the spot. The entire time, I am sitting in the chair wondering when it was going to be over. I was left with a red bruise and worst of all, I was upset because in 3 weeks I was getting married.
When I told the receptionist about my experience and that I didnt recieve the hand massage and complimentary foot massage(it says on the brochure). She passively says, "oh, usually they are good about giving it." I asked her what she could do and she says, I will charge you only for the hydrofacial which is 199. I am speechless. Hello! The only reason I went for the package deal was because it came with those additional services! I can do the freaking math!
To continue, the PR/Customer Service manager at Mind and Body Day Spa totally SUCKED! I called and emailed him about my experience. He promises me that he will get back wtih me in 24 hours. After 2 months- he finally emails me to TELL ME that they will not refund me the money.
Heres my note to management: You are running a spa. Do you know what that means? People go to a SPA to destress, to feel good, to release stress. What are you running? If I had this situation, I would have picked up the phone immediately, contacted the upset client and said: I am sorry about your experience. Our package did promise those services, please come back in and we will be happy to finish up with the package. Hearing this, I would've been satisfied and said to myself, hey s@*t happens and at least they took responsibility.
My question to you: Why bother getting a service at such a spa that places so little value on customer's overall experience. Do yourself a favor and go to a place that is run like real SPA.
Pros: LOCATION
Cons: EVERYTHING

It was a bad experience for me as well. Based on the reviews below - i thought I was the only one who felt this way, i'm glad to know that there are others out there. I had had a stressful day and planned on destressing at this "renowned" spa - however, my day of stress turned into a night of stress as this business was very unprofessional in handling of their clients. The massage was so lackluster and the way that everything was handled thereafter was so unprofessional. I voiced my concerns (very nicely - i might add) to the receptionist who told me to email the manager - It has been a few weeks and I have yet to hear back from him. If I were running a business, I would want to cater to my customers and unsure their happiness - isn't that business rule #101? You can have a plethora of "rave" reviews but the exceptions are what you should really look at. Thanks - still waiting for a response.
Pros: location, atmosphere
Cons: unprofessionalism

This spa was not only amazing customer service, everyone that worked there really knew what they were talking about. Even the front desk workers. I asked Jennifer about some of the products and she nailed each description down and made me really interested. They immediatley asked me for hot tea or water and made me feel at home. With a nice water fall in the front and relaxing music. The massage I got was a deep tissue and it was one of the best I had recieved. The rooms are big and VERY relaxing, along with the service. I have been to other spas (mostly corporate ones) that were not welcoming and the rooms were so hard to even turn sideways in. Amanda gave my massage to me and she gave me a DEEP tissue and it still was super relaxing. I have also gotten manicure and pedicures here and Lauren really knew what she was doing, my toes and nails looked healthier than ever, and the polish stayed on for weeks!!! My facials from Andrea and Bethany were amazing, my skin felt healthy and hydrated afterwards. This spa is number one and I would never think to go anywhere else!
Pros: THUMBS UP ALL THE WAY!

Idon't understand the negative reviews on this site. I have been going to Mind & Body for about 3 years. I have had facials, manicures, pedicures, and massages. I have experienced only the most professional treatment and services. My first visit was a package (half day spa treatment), a gift from my husband. I felt like a queen after that visit. I have returned many times since and have always thoroughly enjoyed my visits. My most recent visit was today for a massage with reflexology (given by Karen). I have had many massages at most of the area spas and in spas in other states. None compare to the wonderful massage that Karen gives. When I leave, I feel totally relaxed and calm. I cannot say enough good things about this spa. Try it once and you will see what I mean. All my friends and family know what to get me for my birthday, Christmas, or any other special occasion. This is my favorite indulgence ever!
Pros: Best massage therapist in Atlanta area (Karen)
Cons: None at all

I had an incredible pedicure very relaxing. To have the experience I had which was truly awesome you must ask for ( Lauren - nail technician) She was gentle on the toes, if you know what I mean very detailed. The salon is very nice as well quite and tranquil. I will be going back, it's my place to go now. Girls if your looking for a new place to be pampered like I was, give Lauren a try. I'll finish by saying my toes are smiling and looking good.
Thank you :-) Lauren at Mind &Body Day Spa
Pros: Loved the experience
Cons: Your missing out if you don't go

The atmosphere is relaxing. The staff was very courteous and discrete. They honored my sensitivity to fragrances. The massage was so-o-o-o wonderful, and skimping on the time.

I would strongly recommend this day spa as it is one of the best for helping you relax from a busy day. The price is good and you can choose what service you would like to have.

I give Mind and Body two thumbs up! I come to the spa to have a Manicure and Pedicure on a regular basis. The staff is excellent and well trained...and over all just very pleasant to be around :)
On a typical Visit here's what you will experience:
You walk in the Door to find total relaxation. From the Music being played and the great little seats in the Lobby they are too cute and the awesome Mirrored waterfall. The Staff Greats you then Here is the Cool part they right away ask "Would you like a cup of Tea or Water?" The Little Cups of Hot Tea, come in some great flavors. (You won't Get that at a normal Korean nail salon) You are taken into the Mani/Pedi room where the Techs there are amazing at what they do. You get to chose from a varitey of oils for your water (my favorite Tea Tree Oil) Every thing they do during your Pedicure you would expect to Pay tons for at other places where at Mind and Body this is all included. Also cost wise it's right up there with a normal strip mall hole in the wall. You're not going to find a lot of off the wall colors to pick from more of the traditional, but they do a great job with making sure the whole nail is covered and is flawless. Another total bonus..The heated up neck Wrap. All in all it's a Great time and I recommend to everyone! Oh one more other thing that I must say... and yes this might seem kind of touchy, But It's really nice to go some where and the Nail Techs. Speak English! You're not sitting there wondering if they are talking about you. Come on Ladies you know you wonder what the heck they are saying. So go treat yourself to something Great in Alpharetta, you won't be disappointed.
Pros: Front Staff always Cheerful and Polite!
Cons: Time always seems to Fly when you're having a great time..
