Dennis was MORE than helpful. He stayed past hours just to get my bike fixed and me back on the trails in time for my vacation the next day. Much better priced and better service than Motorless Motion in Mount Pleasant, MI who seem to take advantage of being a one business in a college town

The Book shoppe has a nice selection of popular titles (most new, some used) and a great snack bar. They have coffee, smoothies and other treats. The staff is helpful and professional. There are a couple of tables so you can enjoy your beverage while you are there. It isn't like Borders or Barnes & Noble, but they are willing to go out of their way to help you. They will even order books that they don't have in stock.

This is a great local restaurant in downtown Alma. They offer a variety of diner options, including your regular soups, salads, and sandwiches. The staff is always friendly and you are almost guaranteed to run into someone you know.
The main dinning room can get a little chilly in the winter as the main door opens right into the restaurant. Choose a seat in the attached dinning room for the warmest spot.

Mancino's is by far the best place in town for pizza and grinders. Their bread is made fresh daily and the best you will taste. Highly recomend - especially great for Super Bowl parties!

More
Alma is expensive but worth every penny. The education is top-notch with small class sizes and many opportunities for student research. The campus is small and close knit (about 1300 students most of whom live on campus). The profs are well respected in their fields and usually get to know their students personally. If you are looking for a place where you can get lost in the mix and party all the time Alma is not for you. The academics are hard but well worth your effort. Tip: When entering as a freshman try to stay on campus (not go home) for a least 3 months.

My husband has had two lung surgeries in the past 3 years, and Dr. Bruno was his surgeon both times. We were both very pleased with him. Dr. Bruno is very knowledgable, but he has a way of explaining complicated medical facts so that anyone can understand. He is very patient with any questions you may have. Despite the fact he is 15 miles away, I would choose him for any future surgeries my family may face above any here in town.
