I get my haircut from Marcus D’Ambrosio every six weeks. This has been the only stylist who has taken the time to talk to me about exactly how I want my hairstyle to look and what I may want to do with it in the future. Apart from being an awesome stylist, Marcus is also amazing at dyeing hair. The salon has a great feel and the other stylists are so very friendly! It’s no wonder why they got best in the city!

If there is one place that you MUST eat in Albuquerque, it is the Frontier. It started small and now takes up most of the length of a block directly across from UNM. They have simply knocked down walls between sections of the buildings. Classic American food with a mix of New Mexican thrown in. The prices are very good and it is THE spot for College students to study and hang out. They actually have a 'no study' policy during certain hours. Their Cinnamon rolls are famous!!

I have been taking my family to Dion's pizza for many, many years and consistantly get fresh salads and tasty pizza for my crew. We also love ordering ahead and picking up to bring back home. I really like that their pizza is not greasy like Pizza Hut or Dominios. In addition, I can order by the slice then add whatever topping each person would like. This really solves the problem of trying to please everyone.

I was a student back in the mid-eighties and later lived in the NE heights for 2 years before moving away.Countless times I dined at the Blake's on Coors NW (which is now gone-sniff, sniff) and after acclimating my tastebuds to green chiles (being from Michigan), I grew to love the classic Lotaburger w/ green chili & cheese. Last January, I returned just to visit . I drove my rental car up Central and as I pulled into the Lotaburger, I began to giggle foolishly almost like a schoolgirl anticipating my reunion with an old flame. So here I was, once again in the city I once called home with the BEST burger ever made. Over the next 3 days, I ate at various Blakes locations twice a day and left with a long-time itch finally scratched, There are other Johnny-come-latelys in the green chili burger category both in NM and elsewhere but having sampled a wide variety, I can truly say that nothing quite measures up to Blakes.
Pros: Food, Service, Value Under Comments if you're a foodie, maybe it can be romantic
Cons: none really

I absolutely love Dion's pizza on fourth st.. Not only is the food great, the employees are always friendly, love to make small talk, and are always smiling. The pizza is amazing, I love new mexican green chile on mine. The subs are always getting better, and the salads are always fresh and made just for you. The employees are mostly teens, and most are valley kids from around the community. They are mature, and will help you if you need anything, such as extras, help out to your car, or to trade in dressings. The refills are free, you can phone in or dine in. late afternoons are usually the busiest, but it's well worth the wait, and again the employees are too nice, probably the nicest of all the Dion's, and always laughing and joking around with each other. What a great atmosphere! Sometimes you can even catch them all singing...
Pros: FOOD, great, friendly employees, service is rocking.
Cons: busy afternoons. short wait. can run out of dion's ranch! beware.

Sadie's has got to be one of THE best mexican restaurants I've eaten at since I have moved to New Mexico. They have the most wonderful house margaritas I have ever had. The food is always hot and comes out from the kitchen very quickly. The staff always brings out free chips and salsa and are usually very attentive.

I've been eating at the Frontier for about 20 years now, and I completely love it! The fresh squeezed orange juice is a must, and for those of you looking for above par huevos rancheros...this is the place to be!
Get the green chili stew on top, and then top that off with the salsa they have at the condiment station for a wallop of hot and delicious!
Another must is a cinnamon roll. They're as big as your head and have enough hot, dripping butter on them, to give you a heart attack right there!
As always, the Frontier is an excellent choice for late nighters because they're open 24hours. Don't be spooked by other posts that talk about the homeless. Think about it....it's right across from UNM, of course there are gonna be vagrants..it's only natural.
I absolutely reccomend it!
Pros: GREAT food

I consider Albuquerque, NM, my second home and so I?ve been to a number of restaurants serving New Mexican cuisine. Los Cuates is definitely one of the best and by far my favorite. Everything from the unique honey-touched salsa and savory tamales to the decadent carne adovada are amazing experiences for the taste buds. The service and staff are all very friendly and nice as well. Sometimes there can be a wait, but it?s well worth it (anyway, a packed restaurant is usually a good sign!). Considering the quality and quantity (ginormous portions!) of the plates, it?s also a bargain. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who?s a local or a visitor to Albuquerque.
Pros: Excellent food, great/friendly service, casual dining, huge portions
Cons: none

My daughter and I make a day of getting our hair cut and nails done. The staff is well trained and treats everyone very well. La Bella definately knows how to pamper and spoil their clients! I love the tea or coffee that is also offered. La Bella also have a massage staff and a complete line of hair care products available.

This place was recommended by 2 friends and this place was great! I grew up on authentic Mexican food (homemade by my Hispanic grandmother) and this place was excellent! The food is spicy, but if you actually read the menu it explains this! I personally like it that way! I had the Chile Rellanos and my boyfriend had the Enchiladas Carne Avado and they were both great. They were both smothered with lettuce, cheese and etc, but again if you actually read the menu it does tell you this. We also ordered the Queso, it was average. I can't believe people actually gave this place bad reviews. But the complaints don't make any sense to me since I read the menu and know what Authentic Mexican food taste like. The waitress make have taken a minute to get to us, but you could tell she was busy... the place was PACKED! Any place that is crazy busy on a Wednesday night is usually good! Will go back for sure!
Pros: Great Salsa!
Cons: I ate too much!
