This place was recommended by 2 friends and this place was great! I grew up on authentic Mexican food (homemade by my Hispanic grandmother) and this place was excellent! The food is spicy, but if you actually read the menu it explains this! I personally like it that way! I had the Chile Rellanos and my boyfriend had the Enchiladas Carne Avado and they were both great. They were both smothered with lettuce, cheese and etc, but again if you actually read the menu it does tell you this. We also ordered the Queso, it was average. I can't believe people actually gave this place bad reviews. But the complaints don't make any sense to me since I read the menu and know what Authentic Mexican food taste like. The waitress make have taken a minute to get to us, but you could tell she was busy... the place was PACKED! Any place that is crazy busy on a Wednesday night is usually good! Will go back for sure!
Pros: Great Salsa!
Cons: I ate too much!

My Husband and I decided to take a trip to Albuquerque, and upon arriving I asked a local where to get the best and most AUTHENTIC NEW MEXICAN food in town. The response was of course, Sadie's Cocinita... So, we decided to give it a try, arriving on a Saturday evening to a FULLY packed parking lot and restaurant, with an hour and a half wait! We hung around and eventually were seated, which by this time I was about to die of starvation. I ordered the Blue corn enchiladas, since blue corn tortillas are a rare find in San Antonio; while my Husband ordered the combo plate (a Chile Relleno and cheese enchilada.) We literally placed our order the moment we sat down, and less than 5 minutes later? You guessed it, our food was placed in front of us- a little too fast for me. Upon seeing the plate in front of me, my first impression was: "I didn't order a SALAD, where are my enchiladas?"
The food was horrible. Horrific, disgusting, greasy and poorly prepared. I'm sorry, but there was NOTHING authentic about two tortillas filled with GREASY cheddar cheese, rolled up and then SMOTHERED with lettuce and tomato on top. And the beans? What a joke! Pinto beans are my favorite, and these tasted as though they had literally been boiled with no seasoning, drained and then drenched in cheddar cheese- again!! My Husband and I took three bites, asked for our check and left. I was so dissappointed after such a long trip to Albuquerque, only to taste the worst Mexican food ever. The servers were very attentive and friendly, and the chips and salsa were pleasant. I honestly cannot fathom as to why and how this place attracts so many people! I grew up on authentic Mexican food (and I mean authentic and all homemade,) and this certainly is none of the above.
*What a dissappointment*
Pros: Attentive servers
Cons: Horrible food, greasy, overpriced and abhorable.

Sadie's is crowded, loud, and the wait times to get seated can be pretty ridiculous.
However, if you want authentic, phenomenal New Mexican cuisine, you have to go. The chicken enchiladas are a fave, and you have to try their salsa, which they market and sell around the US.
Have a Negra Modelo in the bar after you put your name on the list - the food is worth the wait!

This is my first time in New Mexico so I checked out city search to find some good mexican food. This was my first stop. Overall, not recommended.
The chips and salsa weren't too bad - fresh and spicy. I ordered the Sadie's Burrito. I was expecting grilled chicken, with some beans and rice, maybe a few bell peppers and some cheese. Errrrt! I was essentially a flour tortilla stuffed with shredded chicken - and that is all. Dry, flavorless shredded chicken. Utter craaap. Also, maybe it is just me, but I could not taste the difference between the Green Chile and the Red Chile. I'm supposed to right? Only thing redeeming about this restraurant is that the service was good. It seemed like I had 3 waiters asking me if I needed more water and stuff. Decent atmosphere however. Bathroom was kind of nasty.
Pros: great service
Cons: tasteless burritos

As a former 4 star restaurant manager, I believe I'm a good judge of service, food quality and value. I travel often and don't expect 4 star service or food quality for that matter at a restaurant such as this. However, I do expect to be greeted by my server before 20 minutes goes by. Then when the food is served it's practicly dropped on the table, cheese and red sauce is dripping off the edge of the plate and it looks like a 4yr old plated it. The marinated pork under all the cheese was quite good but that's about the best I can say for this restaurant. The sopapillas were not even that good! If you want great Southwest Mexican food try "Cafe Au Lait" in old town instead. It's better food, service & value by far.

Sadies may offer the best Mexican food in Albuquerque, but you be the judge. Go for the enchiladas and burritos. Good food, good service, good value.

This place is huge which proves that it's popular, but it's way overrated. Service was poor, food was only OK. Try any other place around and you'll probably do better than here...

They need to open more of these restaurants - this place has awesome food! We love eating here about once a month and are never disappointed. The decor could use some updating, but the food makes up for it. Try our favorite - the El Roberto Special - to DIE FOR! Everything is great here, salsa, enchiladas, margaritas. The place is very popular and we know why - all the locals love it.
Pros: FOOD, good service, prices
Cons: Decor maybe??
