The Crooked River Lodge is a great place to stay in northern Michigan. It is located in a small town called Alanson, but it is pretty close to bigger towns like Petoskey and Mackinac City. The lodge itself looks like a huge log cabin and it sits right off of the river. The great room is very warm and inviting and the staff is very nice. The rates vary throughout the year, but I would say they are competitive with the bigger chains.

Comfort Center has a clean and well organized store. We purchased a bed from them. Really liked the fact that they don't charge a delivery free. I also like the fact that they removed the old bed we had. Staff and delivery person where very nice. Would recommend.

Pauly's offers hearty meals for low prices. This restaurant has home cooked meals that are delicious. My favorite is the breakfast menu. Look for their specials that they list on a board on the wall. You can find this little diner right off the main highway.
