Meatball Splash, salad swimming in mozz cheese, terrific dishes abound in this resturant. It offers so much personality and great taste - and all open until late at nite. There is only one slight downfall - its cash/check only. There is an atm type machine in back - be aware of fees from the machine and your bank. Overall one of my favorite places to go in Akron - late nite or otherwise.

Luigi's is a northeast Ohio tradition--far better than the much ballyhooed "east side" restaurants in Cleveland The menu is limited, the food is hearty, portions are, for the most part, generous You do have to wait in line, sometimes more than 30 minutes The place is always busy The waitresses are all very, very nice Some of them have been there over twenty years It is a fun place to go The problem here is the kitchen The food is inconsistent Sometimes it is fantastic Sometimes there are real problems The kitchen help is unstable; there is a constant turnover Sometimes you wonder ""what the h*** are they doing in there?" Your server will try to make amends if you have a problem, but be prepared for a long wait to rectify a problem Don't let the kitchen incompetency scare you away Usually the food is good Go here with the right attitude It is not "The Ritz" but a wholesome, unique place to eat and not part of a bland, mediocre, overpriced chain

Luigi's Restaurant is the perfect place to go for pizza. The crust is cooked just right and the cheese and sauce are used liberally. The prices are excellent for the amount of food in each serving. The waitresses and waiters are attentive to the tables and eating inside is pleasant. We like to pick up a pizza to take home and it is always available when we get there. It is always HOT!

My whole family loves to eat at Luigi's! Their pizza is just perfect in my opinion - yummy crust and browned cheese. They have Italian dishes, pastas, salads too. It is often VERY crowded there, and as there is no lobby area, people often wait outside for tables, standing in lines. The service is pretty lacking in my opinion. I am not sure if this is because they are understaffed or too busy, but it is always the case there - so budget two hours if you ae going to eat there - time to wait in line abd long waits for food and your check.

This is a great place for lunch. Its atmosphere really draws you in with old time Italian feel. The pizzas and the pastas are great, and you have to get one of their salads. There is so much cheese and pepperoni on it it may as well be a pizza and not a salad at all! Prices are really reasonable, and the service is good too.

Under the "Y Bridge in Akron is a little Italian restaurant that is a legend of Akron. If you walk up to someone and say, "What is the best Italian Restaurant in Akron?" Most will say Luigi's. The food is excellent and the pizza is great. As a matter of fact I would venture to say, you will go away satisfied and stuffed. Make sure you stop by… Just take Perkins to Howard and go down the hill to the first street and follow the signs. But told tell anyone I told you... It is an Akron secret. Oh here is the huge draw back. It is not really wheelchair accessible.
