I would like to share one of Aiken's finest secrets, and that would be The Variety Restaurant. This restaurant serves from steak and seafood to hamburgers. The quality of the food is outstanding, and the price is reasonable. If you decide to order a hamburger, please know that these are HUGE!!!
Two people who aren't really big eaters could definitely share one. The food is fresh, and the taste is out of this world! Treat yourself to some quality food in a relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy!

This restaurant features a buffet of Chinese delights. They offer lots of choices to please even the pickiest of eaters. It is reasonably priced, and the service is wonderful. The one thing that really impressed me about this restaurant was that the food did not cause me to have stomach trouble as some Asian cooking can. You will not go away hungry at this restaurant. I took some of my teachers out for Christmas to this restaurant. They all enjoyed!

Chilis offers a variety of menu items to please even the pickiest eater. The portions that are served are large also... making it plausible for two people to share. I love the grilled chicken salad that they serve. It is definitely large enough for two people to share. A fine treat of good food in a relaxed atmosphere. I also enjoyed the beauty of the tiled tables. Very nice!

This cinema offers a variety of choices of movies with plenty of space. My husband is disabled, and they even have a few seats set aside for the disabled. They offer lots of goodies to snack on in a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. The floors are not sticky as they are in some theaters.
Restrooms are centrally located too. It's a great place to go with friends to enjoy being together and watch a film.

Ruby Tuesdays is a good choice to meet the needs of different people with varied tastes. I love the salad bar there. They offer such a variety of salad goodies on their bar. They also offer many other items on their menu such as steak and chicken dishes. The portions are nice-sized and the prices are reasonable. The buffalo chicken sandwich is very good. The atmosphere is relaxing so that you can enjoy the company that you are with.

Ryans is a family restaurant with a buffet set-up that includes steaks. They offer many different meats and veggies. They have a very nice salad bar that offers lots of choices for healthy eating.
They also have a dessert bar that is very good.
The building can hold a large crowd, but there is not much privacy. The tables are very close together. The food is good, and you will get plenty to eat.

This is a very fun Japanese steak house. They cook the food on the table which is also a grill. It is very entertaining and the food is delicious. They offer steak, seafood, and vegetables, rice, etc...
I love the dipping sauces that they offer. It would be great for couples as it is more dimly lit than most restaurants. You do have to share the table with other people unless you have enough people in your party to fill a table. The food is very good here.

The homemade bread that they bring on a cutting board with butter to spread on it is soooooooooooo tasty. It is a restaurant that is perfect for dates or families. It is not a bright restaurant which affords privacy. I love the potatoes that they stuff with cheese, bacon, etc... The price is kinda high, but definitely worth it!

If you dine inside, at least one person will greet you before you even make it to the counter. It is usually very cool in the summer and warm in the winter inside. The cashiers usually know what extras you can have with your meal, and what you are able to substitute. I love almost everything they cook, and they even have a variety for the health-conscious. I love the broiled fish platter. It comes with broiled fish, assorted sautéed veggies over rice, a marvelous bread, and a side salad (but ask for the side salad, so that you won't automatically get coleslaw instead). If you ever order the broiled fish sandwich, please do have it blackened (extra charge). The wonderful taste is definitely worth it! Sometimes, Captain D's has coupons in the Sunday Paper inserts. If you ask for a paper menu, it may have a coupon on it. They also accept credit cards. I think their seafood is comparable to Red Lobster in portion, but a little less costly. Try it!

I really love Sonic, especially for the way that they cater to individual people's tastes and health preferences. They do have healthier choices on the menu, but not a huge selection. For instance, they now have prepared salads, and a grilled chicken sandwich that is very tasty. If I'm craving a drink, Sonic is always the first place on my mind. I especially love their sweet tea with lemon. Even in the South, many restaurant chains can't get it right. It's either too sweet, not sweet enough, tastes like coffee grounds (ugh!), or puts honey to sweeten it instead of sugar.
The cons would be: the music can be so loud at times, that it's hard for the order takers to hear, the wait is long if a lot of people show up at the same time, and Sonic rarely offers good coupons (most of the food is expensive for fast food).
However, I love the special touches...napkins and mints, any sauce you desire, free refills on drinks (if you stay outside to dine). The personalities of the car hops is marvelous. They do check up on you from time to time, and seem to move as quickly as possible to serve you. It's very family friendly for all.
