Shaina Marx has cut and colored my hair. She is incredibly talented, professional and gifted. Each time, I brought a picture and she gave me EXACTLY what I asked for. I have not found this kind of service for a very long time. Today she highlighted my hair with a beautiful combination of blonde tones. Her approach is unique in that not only is she truly a pro at her craft but she is so much fun to spend time with. Everyone at Suede treats their clients as though they are a guest - not just a client/source of income. I went to see Shaina Marx at Suede after reading great reviews of her services here, on city search. Oh my were they right! I previously have worked in a salon for two years as a receptionist, and have never had a stylist there or at any other salon, spend as much time as Shaina did consulting me on the look i wanted, and REALLY making sure she understood what i wanted. She was professional, listened to what i wanted and executed brilliantly!!!! she spent a whole one hour and 10 minutes making my cut and style PERFECT, and I really appreciated that. Talk about a gal with phenomenal talent and hair savvy!! I would recommend Shaina to anyone who wants a fab, chic haircut, with perfect attention to detail....not to mention fab prices!!! It had been 16 year since I had scissors applied to my hair and I wanted to donate my long ponytail to Locks of Love. Shaina was very helpful and listened to my many concerns about how I wanted to look; and NOT look. I also really liked how called when she was unable to keep the original appointment (even though it was 7:30 AM). Since I do not frequent salons my review of the environment is : chemical smelling place with alot of chairs and people with towels on their shoulders. Overall, comfortable, nice attentive people. I won't be waiting very long to visit Shaina again!!!

I hate to write such awful (to me anyway) reviews about a salon, but I've been in the same industry as they-and I am a professional Head Hunter for Seattle Salons. I never get my hair (or rarely) done at the same place twice.It's part of what I have to offer my own clients in terms of best referrals for their locale, or not. And Salon Suede, or Suede- who was voted best style by Amy for 2007, and was whom I wanted to see. I have found out, however-that Amy employs young employee's that made it very clear to me over the phone they were more than just a business, they are a HUGE EGO BASED Salon.I had to cancel my hair appointment, with a reschedule in mind naturally, as a situation arose 2 days earlier and I knew I had to call, to re-schedule my appointment and cancel the one I had at the same time. When I called 2 days in advance to reschedule, they had an answering service that left no place to leave a general message.Bad practice number one. And secondly when I did make a connection on Tuesday with a receptionist I was treated more rudely than any other salon I've been too, honestly! Which is why I'm sorry to write the negatives-but word of mouth is how we become really great- and all reviews must be true. This salon needs a reality check.When I said I was unable to make the appointment (curt hello BTW) the female, young obviously! immediately chastised me for not giving 24 hours notice and that I could be charged half price next time. I was at 21 hours. Why so upset?Very bad. And just how could have the Salons hand reached into my pocketbook? Interesting business practice and warning, too- and about the most unpopular one that will not give them the clients they WANT. I will tell you they are very eager that you must come to THEIR salon (don't), yet no reminder calls like other salons. She not once asked if I wanted to reschedule and got off the phone pretty fast.

Shaina is a truly gifted hair stylist. She is personable, professional and really dedicates herself to her work. I have referred many of my friends to her and they have all loved her as well. She even made my mother in law happy. :) Everytime she does my hair, I leave feeling GREAT! I cannot say that about any other hairstylist I have known. Shaina stays on top of trends and gives great advise. I look forward to our time to visit because I consider her my close friend now. I LOVE HER.

I have never had such a wonderful experience with a hair stylist as I have had with Shaina. My hair is really thick and crazy and after seeing Shaina it has never looked better! Shaina did my color and highlights and then gave me the coolest cut I've ever had and my color is sooo pretty. Seriously, half the people at my office asked where I got my hair done after my appointment. Thanks for such a great job Shaina!! Pros: comfy salon, awesome stylist

Recently, Shaina Marx has moved away from Scottsdale, AZ and has found herself in Seattle, WA... We want Shaina back! As the owner of Salon Tru Scottsdale, Shaina's last salon, it is sad for me to write this. As much as I want her back, Seattle now has Scottsdale's brightest upcoming hair rockstar. Shaina is among a select group of stylists that we should all keep our eyes on, you will hear of her one day...she is professional, courteous, up to date on the newest styles and a born hair stylist. If you are lucky enough to find yourself in her chair, you will have one of the best salon experiences you will ever have. Your color and cut will be perfectly matched to your facial structure, your busy schedule and your budget. Being in the salon industry almost my entire life, it is with much experience that I tell you, Shaina is a great find. Get into her chair now while she is still new in Seattle and set up your standing appointments for as long as you can...before you know it, you will be out of luck in finding your new stylist, she will be too busy...
