Zona Salons

I have been going to Zona Salon in Norwell for 7 years, and I can honestly say I would never get my hair done anywhere else. I've had free cuts and colors offered elsewhere, and I would rather pay full price to get my hair done at Zona. I have been working with my current stylist, Sam Snowdale, for the last 5 years. Sam is just fabulous - she is incredibly proficient and knowledgeable about her craft, and I'm confident that whatever I ask for she will do perfectly. One of the best things about Sam is her ability to translate what I've envisioned for my hair - whether it is bangs, layers, short cut, low lights - and turn my vague requests into a reality that is just what I was looking for. On top of her skill, Sam is a pleasure to work with and I know that any time I have an appointment I will not only have great results but a great time as well. Zona is the only place you should go if you want a great experience, from when you first walk in the door to when you leave looking fabulous! more

I mainly go to the Zona Salon in Hingham Center and I love the low-key feel of the place. Bob does a fantastic job on both cut and color -- honestly I could not be happier! I really enjoy my time there; we always have plenty to chat about, even with the longer visits for color. I highly recommend Zona and especially BOB!! more

Okay. So I moved to the South Shore in 2000. I have been going to Zona since then. Maria and Frank and now Andrew are the most caring, respectful team of salon owners and focus totally on giving the customers an A+ experience. My hair has never looked so good...and they have teamed up with Aveda products, which is another bonus. (when you buy Aveda products you accumulate points-to buy things or have a free styling at Zona- who does that? I've had 2 free stylings already this year!).)For 10 years I don't think that I ever had the same stylist more than once-the experience with all of the stylists at Zona was excellent. more

I recently decided to try Zona as i heard great things about it. My Stylist Bob took the time to listen to what I wanted. I could not be more pleased with the Cut and Color!!!! The atmosphere in the salon is very relaxing, as the people are very nice. I especially like the feeling of not being rushed as I did in other salons. more

Acutely self-conscious, I'm not a ""salon-type"" and I usually dread getting my hair done at upscale professional salons since I've often felt uncomfortable during my visit and left hating my hair. more

As one of three siblings leading Zona, the perception of our guests is very personal to my brother, sister, and myself. Where we fall short, we want to get it resolved. Since your review seems to emphasize price and the communication of prices, I feel it is necessary to point out that our prices are posted, but are limited by what gets decided upon behind the chair between guest and stylist. It sounds like we may not have been thorough in our consultation and I welcome the opportunity to learn more and resolve that for you. However, since this is a public forum, I need to point out that our prices are fair and at no time based on geography or accolades. After having found out I was expecting, I was in search of a salon that could provide me with a safer way to color my hair. Zona, in the past year or so, converted to an Aveda salon which uses products that are safer for the body and environment. I thought I'd give them a try. I'm thrilled to say that my experience was great. Kristen was terrific at listening to what I was hoping to achieve and giving me her opinion as to how she thought it would best to accomplish that. She showed great technique when putting foils on my long hair, a exceptional eye for color, and gave me simple, modern cut. The salon offers a full line of beautiful Aveda products and the staff seems to know a lot about them. Superb spa-like experience overall, and Kristen has my business for life! I've been going to this salon for a number of years. I would recommend to anyone. I started going because the woman at the desk offered me a complimentary wash and blowdry to try them out!. Just ask, they want people to try them out. You will be hooked from the start. A very customer focused salon and will make an appointment work with their group of stylists, even if you show up late (as I have a habit of doing). They just went Aveda concept which is great since I love Aveda and can get all the products I love. They also particpate in the Pure Privilege program which a client gets points for everything purchased. Also..... Tiffany gives the most unbelievable head, neck and shoulder massages after my appointment (usually before, but I rarely make it on time). Also... I received a hand massage while my color processed. Who needs the spa! Shelly is my primary stylist. Professional, poised and makes sure I walk out with the most flattering cut for my face and the foils that I get are beautiful. She really listens to what I want and what I will keep up with. When I want something I won't maintain... she tells it to me straight and is usually right. I hadn't really ever given a thought to my hair until I got engaged. My fiance coerced me into getting an appointment at Zonas, and at first, I was a little apprehensive. I don't belong in a fancy upscale salon. As soon as I arrived, I knew I was wrong. The desk staff was very welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. Daniel was very professional and he even consulted with my fiance about my hair, which, of course, made her happy! He listened to her very well, and she and I were both very pleased with the end result. Now, she won't let me see anyone else for my cuts, and I wouldn't have it any other way! I went in to the salon with pictures, long hair, and a desire to donate it to locks of love. The stylist Lisa was excited about my new look and executed the style with great professionalism, and exuberance. All the staff were friendly and helpful. For such a chic looking salon I felt at home as if i had been a client for years. I highly recomend this salon, you can't go wrong. I am a customer for life. Pros: great ambience,friendly staff more

The staff from beginning to end of the appointment were very accommodating and welcoming. The skill and knowledge of hair really impressed me as I have difficult hair to work with and a number of stylists gave their input as to options I have. The consultation was informative and I was asked about how much time I would put into my hair and they customized my hair to my lifestyle. I would love to recommend one person in general,..... but from what I experienced, everyone is really into hair and making it work for me... so try different people (they recommended that) and find the ones that work best with me. more
