Atmosphere is good and relaxing. Good strong coffee and some of the best scones I've had (they usually run out by 11AM) you get an hour of free internet. My only gripe is it can...

Friends who live a block from this store told me it was the best coffee in Seattle. Still on East Coast time, I arrived at 6 AM on Saturday and ordered a large latte. I was the ...

Great coffee and food, but prepare to wait 8/23/2005

Zoka may just be too popular for its own good! Actually, when you go to get coffee on a Saturday morning, and you see this place with a line sometimes stretching out the front doors, why not give it a try? As long as you're not in a hurry, Zoka is the perfect place to grab breakfast. Bring your dog, tie it up outside by the water dish, and get inside to make your selection from a huge assortment of pastries, pies, and other treats. The interior is very cool, with small tables pushed together in rows, or lined up in front of the benches against the wall so you have an electrical outlet for your laptop. As for coffee, you can't do much better than this. Zoka prides itself on its coffee, and they hired a world champion barista to be the best. I like a mocha on a Saturday - grab a flaky turnover or slice of cobbler, sit outside with the dog, and read the Stranger. I have not been to Zoka during the week, but I imagine the line would not be nearly as long. Highly recommended! more

great for coffee 8/17/2005

Zoka is one of my favorite hang out places. Away from work and home. One in greenlake and one in U district. The greenlake location in set in a neighborhood with outside seating under trees. The coffee is great and the service is friendly. Skilled baristas who can pull their shots well. Internet is also provided wirelessly for free. The seating is ok, it gets busy at times and there are limited soft chairs. Its mostly designed for workign I suppose with big tables to sit at. the U district loation expanded and offers a fireplace to sit by. more

More coffee 4/5/2005

Zoka is never empty. This is probably one of the continually busiest cafe's in Wallingford/Greenlake (with possibly the exception of Essential). Free wireless internet, plenty of tables and some of the best coffee in Seattle poured by award winning barristas. There are a lot of graduate students, startup companies, bible studies and freelancers here and they just don't leave. At least half of the denizens are staring at laptops like me. The food is ok, but nothing to write home about. There is quite a variety of scones and muffins and big cake/pie/sweet things. more
