Zara's Food Store is a great neighborhood place to stop and pick up any essential groceries. It's not nearly as large as the bigger supermarkets, and doesn't offer most of the organic options found at a place like Whole Foods, but its nonetheless been a local favorite for years. In addition to its groceries and butchery, it's also home to some of the best po-boys in the city, available to take home from the deli. The standout is the meatball po-boy, practically unbeatable even by the better known po-boy restaurants.
