Rude waitress. Food isn't bad 10/19/2007

Yuet Lee is usually my preferred place for late night dining because it opens until 3A.M. more

Good Chinatown Eatery 8/25/2007

I don't think this is the best eatery in Chinatown, but we found the food fresh, generously portioned, reasonably priced, and flavorful. We enjoyed eating there and would go back anytime if we lived in SF. Pros: A fun place to eat Cons: A little run down more

Fun Experience 10/15/2006

The best thing about the dining experience here is ordering one dish and getting another instead. The seafood entrees are tasty and plentiful. Forget the service but the prawns with oytser sauce are delicious. We would return anytime. Pros: Quick service and very tasty seafood choices Cons: tricky service more

Best Chinese food in SF! 8/3/2006

This is the best place for authentic chinese food. Everything I've had has been wonderful - the seafood is very fresh, as are the vegetables and they have a wide variety of choices on the menu to suit everyone. I love the salt & pepper calamari as well as the salt & pepper crab (which has a batter over the shell and is a bit spicy - EXCELLENT!) The owner & the staff are very friendly, and the restaurant is clean. I recently moved to Palo Alto and if my family calls to tell me they're going to Yuet Lee, I will drive up to SF to meet them for dinner! Pros: affordable, excellent taste Cons: parking more

Salt and pepper squid! Sauteed pea shoots! 5/3/2006

I can't believe I lived here for years before going to Yuet Lee. By far the best late night eats in the city, it's worth a trip at any time of day for that squid and those pea shoots... Come expecting zilch in the way of "atmosphere" -- but, in fact, Yuet Lee has tons of atmosphere, of the awesomely divey (but very clean) kind. A San Francisco institution, and rightly so. Pros: Divey atmosphere, Excellent Food, Open late Cons: What cons? more

Great late night food 6/5/2005

The green decor may scare some people away but this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in San Francisco. All dishes are made from scratch with fresh ingredients. This is great place for a midnight snack because it is open till 3am. Please be warned that this place only accepts CASH. Sit by the window and see the hustle and bustle of Chinatown. Servers are friendly and very efficient. PROS: Great Food CONS: Icky Decor more

Chinese food - even late! 5/27/2005

In the heart of Chinatown, Yuet Lee is well priced (dishes for around $8/$9) and delicious! Yuet Lee is opened until 2am. Keep in mind that they are closed on Tuesdays. You will be sure to be impressed by the pictures and letters that they have hanging on their walls - everyone from Chef Emerille to Jackie Chan has been to this place. more

Great late night spot 4/4/2005

I've visited Yuet Lee on many drunken nights and the food is great. The crispy noodles and a couple of the egg dishes are the way to go, though everything is good and made from scratch. Pros: food more

Good Authentic Chinese 7/18/2004

The decor may scare some people away but they will be missing out on one of the best Chinese restaurants in San Francisco. All dishes are made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Order any dish with abalone and you are getting the real deal, not something from a can. Pros: Seafood dishes, large portions, fairly priced Cons: , dicey neighborhood, no credit cards more

Rivals House of Nan King 2/22/2004

Great place for a slap up nosh, and the food rivals HONK. If you're visiting Chinatown, it's a must! Pros: Food, Cheap, Atmosphere Cons: , Too bright more

An institution 6/21/2003

One of the very best food options in the city after 2AM, a real SF institution. The fresh steamed fish, fried rice, mango beef, so many things on the menu hit the spot after a night of heavy clubbing. I have lived with and come to enjoy the ugly decor, the crowds, the tea served in plastic cups, the colorful street scene outside the big windows, having other parties seated at your table when they need to cram, even the absence of hot and sour soup on the menu. But the service has become unbearable lately. Waiters who I recognize from years of service, and who have even come to recognize me, have gotten brusque, cold, grumpy. Maybe the 2-3AM rush of drunken partiers irritates the staff but they shouldn't take it out on everyone. Pros: delicious food, fresh, busy Cons: rude staff, ugly interior more

Wonderful Food & Friendly Service! 2/11/2003

Sit by the window and see the hustle and bustle of Chinatown while enjoying some of the best Chinese food in the area! Servers are friendly and very efficient. I make a trip to go there whenever I feel like Chinese food. more

Love the duck and rice.... 6/13/2002

I've been coming to yuet lee for the last two years, and I get the same thing every time. A plate of duck, with rice...delicious! Great place to hit late night, after the bars. Inexpensive, very very fast service, and tasty food...What more could you want, on a late night after the bars, that is.... more
