Yellow Rat Bastard: the Soho edition 3/31/2006

The map on Judy's book shows Yellow Rat Bastard to be somewhere around Midtown, but the Yellow Rat Bastard that I frequent is actually on Broadway, in Soho. The store is definitely unique, with clothing for both men and women with a different sort of style. Things you'll find in the store include lots of Paul Frank, UFO raver pants, camouflage gear, wristbands, books related to counterculture topics, and anything and everything that you will definitely never find at Abercrombie and Fitch. Definitely a cool place. Check it out! more

unique 12/31/2005

this place can be quite scary. there is not alot of light and it is designed to look like a sewer. But they do have some pretty cool clothes. they a have a very big selection of paul frank t-shirts and apparel. they also have a big selection of sneakers. my favorite is the wide selection of converses they have. their clothes are pretty nice, though they can be very expensive. i once say this hoodie that was really nice, but was about ninety dollars. and they have pretty cool t-shirts too, but are also very expensive. they had t-shirts for fifty dollars. they are a worthwile splurge though, as the clothes are in really good quality. more

It was great at first but now its winding down a bit. 11/4/2005

I loved this store when it first arisen but I slowly realized its not so great. They carry a lot of brands for skaters and goth kids but they don't carry the nicer styles of that brand. Maybe the buyer for the store is not really in the know of things. Great place to get some Emily the Strange gear and Gola bags. They carry all the Canadian designers that are hard to find in NYC and they do have sales. I do go there solely because they carry Bench and Kitchen Orange. Better shopping for men's clothing than womens. more

grunge wear 10/14/2005

Like everyone, I went through a grunge phase and this is the place to fill that need. They have everything from the cargo pants to cargo skirts. From makers I have never heard of prior to going to this store, like Mook to the regular names you expect to find like Paul Frank. Prices are very reasonably and selection is ok. If they don't have your size, than you're out of luck. more

Love this store 8/15/2005

This is a great store. It has items from Paul Frank to Emily the Strange. There are a lot of cool books, belts, pajamas, shirts, pants, bags, and other things. It's broken up into three sections, the guys, girls, and miscellaneous. The miscellaneous is the best part of the store. There's a huge wall in the back of this section made up of bags. Great music playing too. more
