My review of Yao Yao is based on my one and only trip there with my wife. Upon entering the inviting restaurant and being greeted by the friendly staff, one could only imagine that the food would be very good. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Imagine placing your order, hungrily anticipating your meal, and diving into your first mouthful of food and tasting a combination of vegetable fried rice and the occasional frozen pea or carrot. I have no idea how some frozen veggies got mixed in among the cooked veggies in the rice, but it was a big turnoff. The little curly hair that was discovered shortly later didn't help either. Needless to say, the fried rice remain untouched while the beef and chicken dishes we ordered were OK, but not anything to rave about. I should have just grabbed some takeout from any other place.
